Summary
“I do,” Ed says. “Love him.”
He feels his throat tighten up immediately after he says it. His chest is buzzing and his hands start to tremble. Ed hasn’t ever told anyone but his mom that he loved them. Even when he thought he might, he'd held it close to his chest for so long that it turned into something twisty and jealous in the dark there. This thing he feels for Stede is different. It wants the light.
“I know that.” Jeffrey gives him a friendly smile. “I have eyes after all.”
“Fuck,” Ed whispers. “Do you think everyone can tell?”

Summary
Stede Bonnet’s mid-life crisis is pretty tame as they go. He merely separates from his wife, quits his job, and sets out to become an indie folk punk musician. What, he thinks, can possibly go wrong?
Edward Teach is tired of the music scene, and his persona as the indie rock musician Blackbeard, but can’t seem to let music itself go. Izzy convinces him to release one more album, his first in seven years. What, he thinks, can possibly go right?
Making music takes a village, but all it takes is one note to make a heart sing.

Summary
The thing is, Stede has never, not once, woken up in someone else’s arms. Mary didn’t like anything touching her when she slept, and she simply wasn’t one for waking up early to play big spoon to the husband she had almost nothing in common with. Any dalliances he may have had before their marriage had not turned into sleepovers, disappointing as he usually was to those women as well. He doesn’t think he disappointed Ed at any point, but he’ll have to ask eventually, probably, if he wants to do this again. They’ll have to discuss a lot of things regardless, like how to sit in meetings together without immediately giving away the fact that Stede wants to unhinge his jaw and swallow Ed whole.

Summary
Mary calls things like this ‘taking a leap of faith’, which makes them feel like they should be grand and important and possibly life changing. They never feel that way to Stede in the moment. In the moment they feel terrifying and lonely and juvenile. As if he’s just now realized he’s allowed to have wants and desires of his own a full thirty years after the rest of his peers figured it out. As if these aren’t things he should have learned about himself as a teenager like everyone else. As if he doesn’t know that imagining himself getting something he wants is just setting himself up for failure.
He’s more or less made his peace with faith, it’s the wanting that’s terrifying.
(Or, Stede wears a skirt in public for the first time and Ed has his way with him in the staff bathroom about it.)

Summary
Weakly, Crowley’s eyes flickered down, and he saw the angel blushing, as if now, suddenly, of all things, he had succumbed to reticence. He was sat back on his knees, and the soft accordion folds of him were dewy with sweat and moonlight.

Summary
In the adventurer’s paradise of Aotearoa (NZ), Stede Bonnet has dreamt of being a travel guide since he was a boy.
Unfortunately, being the heir to coach tour company Bonnet Adventures means he’s doomed to a life behind a desk, planning experiences he’ll never have.
Edward Teach is what they call a world-weary traveler. Having guided nature tours in some of the most extreme environments around the world, he’s seen and done it all – and he’s bored out of his skull.
When Stede abandons his family to lead a trekking tour of the country, he quickly realizes that he’s in over his head, and looks to more experienced guide, Ed, for guidance.
Facing high-maintenance travel bloggers, treacherous natural elements and the ever-present feeling that they’ll never be enough, Stede and Ed find new purpose - and each other - on the adventure of a lifetime.

Summary
“You may kiss the groom,” the celebrant concludes, and Ed raises one eyebrow right at the same time that Stede whispers, too quiet for the crowd to hear, “Will you?”
And Ed nods, sliding his palm up to cup Stede’s jaw and pulling him in for the softest of kisses. It’s brief, barely a touch really, but Stede practically melts beneath him, leaning into his touch. When Ed pulls away, he smiles and it’s full of sunshine and it warms Ed’s heart.
This is his husband. His husband.
Stede lets out a little nervous, sweet huff. “It’s nice to meet you,” he murmurs, and Ed can’t help the snort of laughter that falls from his throat.

Summary
Every year, a person is chosen—supposedly at random—to be sacrificed to the Kraken, to quell the sea's worst storms and to stop the taking of ships. After his engagement falls apart, Stede is not surprised when his father arranges for this year's sacrifice to be him. The surprise comes later: when the Kraken claims but does not devour him. Instead, it whisks him away to its secret sea cave, where Stede discovers that there is much more to the creature than he was led to believe—and that they have a deeper connection than he could have ever dreamed.
