Summary
Eighteen months have passed since El's death and the Party is still coping with the loss of their hero. As the town returns to some semblance of normalcy after years of panic, the Party tries to regroup and enjoy one last summer together before separating and going off to college all over the country. Will starts a summer job at a country club just outside of Hawkins and strikes up an unlikely connection that leaves him on the outs with the Party. The beaker to her lips was a challenge, a test to see if Zanka was confident enough in her judgement. Now, Jabber had a hand behind Zanka’s neck and the other was slowly tilting the beaker.

Richie is going to have the best summer in Hawkins ever and nothing is going to stop him. Not the nostalgia of not being with the Losers, not Eddie's new girlfriend, not his lame cousin Mike and specially not these weird thoughts that get louder when he's alone.
Thank god at least Mike's friends aren't lame, specially a very interesting Wizard.Will is sick of being used by his broken friend group, and his only way out of the never ending cycle is Mikes identical cousin, who seems to have found an interest in him.
Jane doesn't understand what she's doing wrong, she doesn't understand why Mike can't love her like he used to, she doesn't understand why there's always something wrong with her. She's glad that at least she has great friends like Dustin to be there for her.
Mike is sick of his annoying cousin, he's barely stayed a day and he's ruining everything, everyone blames him when clearly it's Richie's fault!

At the start of their final year at Hawkins high, Will slowly starts drifting away from the party as he befriends one of Dustin bullies, it wasn’t supposed to really be anything more then talking in class and going over to each others place to study, Will finds himself falling in love.
The rest of the party are starting to notice, and when they try to bring it up Will isn’t amused and an argument ensues, and Will ends up distancing himself from the group even more, while his relationship with Chance grows, he finds himself changing in ways he never thought he would.
