That she’s still alive, but um, I just- I know what you’re going through. So, yeah” he finished lamely, glancing up at Itadori’s face.

Megumi looked down at his hands again.

Dazai, if you don't get up, I’m eating your share."
"You can have it, Ranpo-san," Dazai waved a hand dismissively, letting the newspaper slide into his lap.
The realization hit him like a delayed physical blow. The date on the corner of his ignored computer screen glared back at him: December 24th.
