Summary
Dick’s goals for his mission are clear: infiltrate the H.I.V.E. base alone, grab the intel unseen, and head back to Titans Tower before the storm hits.
Getting snowed into a cabin with Joey Wilson and Deathstroke was not even remotely part of the plan.

the thing where you’re lowkey enemies and can’t stand one another, but you both love the same person, so you’re compelled to coexist in order to care for the one you mutually adore. and perhaps, through that shared devotion, you come to realise you have far more in common than you initially assumed, and while you’ll never fully see eye to eye, you learn to live with a reluctant respect and a quiet, hard-won understanding of one another.

“We can live without Bruce,” he tells himself, unfortunately not for the first time in his life.
“Sure, but why would we?” Robin asks so earnestly, like the thought had never even occurred to him.
Dick hates him.
On Dick's 30th Birthday, he gets a conveniently timed blast from the past. It goes badly, but he gets to say some things he's never been able to before.

‘’You know the Mad Hatter?’’
An involuntary shiver runs up Roy’s spine.
‘’Jarvis Tetch? Short little freak with a hard-on for Alice in Wonderland? Yeah, Wings' mentioned him, once or twice. Dabbles in mind control. Gives me the creeps.’’
‘’Well, back in the day he built this thing called the Dream Machine, trapped its victim in a kind of dream world. It seems someone found the blueprint. Spruced it up a bit.’’
A cold feeling settles in Roy’s stomach.
‘’You’re saying…’’
‘’You’re looking at the Dream Machine 2.0.’’
---
Or: Dick is dreaming and Roy needs to get him out. He learns a lot of things along the way, things Dick would've preferred to keep buried.

Dick is on the chandelier.
An eight year old. A genius gymnast, to be sure, but a child, small for his age and under Bruce’s legal care. On the chandelier. Twenty five feet above the ground, surrounded by glass and kept up by a single fifty-year-old chain bolted to the ceiling.
Bruce is going to have to check his blood pressure after Dick is safe on the ground.

“Help me, please.” Jude begged, defeated. “I don’t know how to do this.”
Set during The Happy Years, Willem finds Jude on the bathroom floor at Green St doing something he's never done before. This is a one-shot giving Jude a chance to explore the world of sex again, but this time on his own terms. Some sentences are directly from the book, although used in a different context. I do not claim them as my own.

Summary
Dick and Bruce are like this:
Not the sun and moon, a love devastated by circumstance, a story of light and gravity, but a different beast altogether. A nucleus fissuring into two, borne of the same energy, the same matter, the same decay.Their story has always been radioactive.
A canon-divergent take on Dick's return after Spyral featuring debilitating self-loathing and guilt, interspersed with the ordeal of being unmasked, and the subsequent waning sense of personhood.

so quietly brilliant. great retelling of dick’s story from the devastating perspective of the compounded grief of not only losing your parents, but also the violent uprooting from your culture and home and being forced to assimilate in a country that hates your guts.

Summary
In a universe that falls somewhere in between Teen Titans and Young Justice, Robin was fourteen years old on the day he was killed in action, caught in a clever trap laid by the world’s most dangerous mercenary assassin.
Deathstroke’s Apprentice was fifteen on the day he finally surrendered to the Justice League, with blood on his hands and scars that will never heal.
Dick Grayson is seventeen on the day he chooses to face Slade Wilson again.
Some things you lose and can’t ever find again. Some things you drop and leave behind. Some things you just have to learn how to carry with you.

Bookmarker's Notes
i’m really taken with the arc Dick undergoes in this fic. watching him slowly untangle and come to terms with his deeply conflicted feelings toward Slade was such a cathartic and emotionally rewarding experience. what i especially appreciated is that the fic never tries to flatten those emotions into something cleanly understandable or easily resolvable; it allows contradiction, shame, attachment, resentment, and longing to coexist in ways that feel painfully human (and very true to Dick’s character, considering his entire character is a masterclass in trauma bonding). because yeah, even in the aftermath of trauma as horrific as this, it’s never that cut and dry, and it will (often) leave behind uncomfortable and complicated feelings toward your abuser.
such an incredible fic that has quite evidently had a lot of thought and care put into it. great conclusion and payoff. everything tied together so well in the end in a way that felt simultaneously rewarding while still remaining open and ambiguous enough for the reader to build on where it leaves off. and there’s also the lingering understanding that this cycle will inevitably happen again, because Dick is Dick and will always do whatever it takes to protect others. that part of him is immutable.
the impact this fic has had cannot be understated. purplesoot, you have no idea what a hero you are.

Summary
“I couldn’t protect him, Dave. Within half a year, I’ve failed him twice.” Aaron balanced his head onto his fingertips.
“You didn’t fail him, Aaron. Not now, and not when Maeve was murdered. We’re a team; no one is at any greater fault than the other for what’s happened . . .”
Aaron let out a heavy, lamenting sigh. “For this unsub—whatever the motivation was before, subjugating a law official is going to give him a transgressive high. Reid’s time with him—however short or long—is going to be unpleasant.”
Peculiarly dismembered men are unearthed in the forest, and the locals request the assistance of more experienced investigators. The profile is complex and mercurial, leaving the team without substantial evidence to work with. So they wait on their perpetrator to ignite a series of events that will supplement their data for assessment. They don’t foresee that data being one of their own. Darkness descends. And yet.
