The staff member who runs the office, the legendarily vindictive Mr. Verlaine, is a lost cause. That’s not a problem though, because Dazai knows exactly how to circumvent him. Summary
When he’s sitting on the bed, wrapped in the blue sweater, he rubs the soft material of the sleeve over his face. He really is more comfy than before.
Absent-mindedly, he hears Dazai say something, though the meaning of the words doesn’t reach his brain, too distracted by the texture. He doesn’t even notice the rain still pounding against the window. Only as he recognizes the sound of the door opening and closing does he look up and around. The room is empty.
Oh, did Dazai leave?
Before he can really process the thought, the door already opens again. Dazai’s back! And he’s…dragging something? The bandaged teen is, in fact, heaving a box across the floor, leaning over it.
“Chibi~” Mackerel sing-songs, obviously a little out of breath. “I…” He pants. “…got something for you~”
When he has reached the ground directly in front of the bed, he stops, gasping, and takes a few seconds to fill his lungs with oxygen again. Then, he kneels down next to the box, peeling the lid open.
Everything stops.
Or; small Chuuya getting some more hugs and other nice things, because he deserves it. Also, he’s going to puzzle today.

“That’s it shitty Dazai!” Chuuya yelled as he got up angrily. He didn’t make it all the way up before he landed back on the bed with a gasp.
Infront of him, on the floor near his bedroom door, was a tiny head coming out of Dazai’s dress shirt and a small body wrapped loosely in bandages. If he wasn’t looking closely, he would have mistaken the little creature for a pile of laundry. The little brunette gasped in surprise and stared at Chuuya with wide frightened eyes.

“It’s an American thing, I think. We were on some undercover mission and got these bunnies because we lacked childhood experiences.”
“We? Who is we?” Atsushi asked, and Dazai smiled.
Kunikida rolled his eyes from his spot across the desks. “Good luck kid, he has never once explained to us who the other person is in that story.”
“My old partner. From my previous job.”
Kunikida stopped and looked back up at Dazai. “You know none of us know where you worked beforehand, don’t be so cryptic.”
“Well, I mean, I could have just said he was my boyfriend.”
