The chewing noise is a lot louder now.
Then it hits him; his father is being eaten.
Minho Lee is an Eater. Simple as that. He lives on the road, driving through small cities and feeding on people when he can. It has been like that all his life. He has been like that all his life.
One night, Minho slips up. He's high on adrenaline, the same one he always feels when he feeds, and that's why he doesn't hear the footsteps coming closer, he doesn't hear the heavy panting, he doesn't smell the fear. He's too entranced in the body in front of him, the meat in front of him, the strong taste he's always loved on his tongue.
That's how he meets Christopher. A bitter Non-Eater, who lived in a recluse farmhouse with an abusive father during his whole life and never knew any better.

Summary
Minho actually smiles this time, but there is still something he wants to say, the words sitting heavy on his tongue, ready to spill past his lips, but he stubbornly holds them back. Perhaps he does not have the right to utter them.
Chan beats him to it, in the end.
“I, uh, miss you.”
Relief washes through him, because this isn’t really a one-sided thing, and Chan misses him, too, and he feels much less stupid now.
“I miss you, too,” Minho whispers back, fiddling with the pillowcase under his head.
I still love you so much remains unsaid, painfully stuck in his throat like pricking thorns.
(Or where calling your ex-boyfriend late at night might not be such a bad idea.)

Summary
The tombstone is of a dark granite with the engraved letters still being easily readable.
'Lee Jongwoo' they say and the space in front of the grave is covered in multiple small looking plants, that are so young, that they haven't even had time to bloom yet.
There are also two candles and a little bowl with a picture and a silver necklace in it.The boy on the photograph looks not much older than 20, and Chan feels ready to pick his morals back up and face his own death head on like a real man, but the big bouquet lying right in the middle of the grave looks unbelievably tempting.

Or: Knight Chan is sent on a mission to wake a neighboring kingdom’s prince from a powerful sleeping enchantment. The catch? He has to break the curse with a kiss, of all things.
Except...it doesn’t go totally as planned. And after some excitement involving a woodland tower, a seven-story flight of stairs, and a feisty prince who renounced his nobility in favor of napping, Chan can admit that he's okay with the surprise turn of events.
