Summary
After he's diagnosed with a terminal illness, Patrick blows up his entire life and goes on his dream vacation.
Story is based on the movie Last Holiday. As usual, I’ve only retained the broadest strokes of the movie plot & taken many liberties. You don't need to be familiar with the movie to read this, but I love and recommend it. Queen Latifah is amazing. This was meant to be written with alternating POV by chapters, but David, and especially Patrick, had other ideas and I let them do what they wanted. Did you get a sudden passion for accounting? Are you taking this one? Are you feeling guilty for stealing my job out from under me?”
David can’t help but let a tiny smirk escape in the corner of his mouth which he furiously tries to tamper down as he looks across the room at his teasing brown-haired business partner.
“Um, about that, for this one, we sort of, actually, have to go together.”
OR, David and Patrick decide they should fake date at a series of seminars for Queer business owners. Because that is definitely a sensible choice.

Except they can't afford New York, so they end up in Jersey. Running low on David's share of the money from the sale and Stevie's life savings, they find jobs working for a small magazine.
After one of his articles is retweeted by Goop, David is assigned to cover a story about a professional baseball player who recently came out of the closet. David and Stevie travel to Toronto to conduct the interview.
During a Masquer-gayed Ball at a club the night before the interview, David meets Patrick.
