Summary
Will arrives at the American Academy of Art in August 1989, intent on stepping out of his comfort zone and reinventing himself. After years of being uncertain of the future, his time in Chicago seems to serve as a light at the end of an endless tunnel, providing him with a fresh start to leave his old life in Hawkins behind. Will swears up and down to everyone he knows that he’s ready to move on, but even so, there’s always a small part of Will that refuses to let his heart go.

Summary
It was February 1991, and Mike Wheeler headed to rehab to receive help for his alcohol addiction. Once his highly anticipated return to Chicago finally arrived, everything seemed to fall into place. He had the unconditional support of Will and the rest of the Hopper-Byers family, he restored all of his previously crumbling friendships, and he was processing his trauma in therapy. All the while, though, he couldn’t shake the feeling that the struggle wasn’t quite over yet.
It was February 1991, and Will’s struggle was finally over. He had, at long last, gotten the boy; the missing piece in his heart, the love of his life, Mike Wheeler. He had everything he’d ever wanted. But little did he know, standing in his open doorway on that brisk December morning, that the Mike Wheeler of his childhood was gone. As he processed this new reality and grieved the old one, Will had to understand what it meant to be in love with this version of Mike Wheeler, and decide if he even wanted that at all.

Summary
Fresh out of college with absolutely fucking demolished artistic ambition, Matt Winters drifted through the final nine months of 1990, disentangling himself from Will while the violent childhood he had escaped continued to shape whom he loved and what he believed he deserved. Through breakups, old lovers, ugly confrontations, and brief acts of defiance, Matt dragged himself toward December with no idea what came next, only the growing certainty that he could not keep living as though his life belonged to everyone but him.
This fic takes place directly after the events of Chapter 3 of Now That We Don’t Talk.

Summary
What initially begins as Mike and Will calling each other exaggeratedly cheesy pet names to mess with Max and Lucas starts spiralling into something a lot more intimate and dangerous. Will isn't really sure where they managed to lose the plot, or how far they can go before there's no turning back.
Or: Max and Lucas go through a late honeymoon phase. It's excessive. It's gross. Mike and Will (well, mostly Mike) decide to engage in exaggerated bouts of PDA to demonstrate how disgusting the couple are being. It starts to get out of control pretty quickly.

Featuring truly Gen X levels of casual alcohol use, cranky hours at the Met, laundry in a haunted basement, a Psychedelic Furs concert, the gang reuniting for a party at Jonathan’s apartment, one scary incident reflecting the grittier realities of late 80s NYC, love confessions obviously, and rather a lot of hickeys. (And they were roommates!)
