Olivia Draper had been a good idea at first. She could pass for older than Tim could pull off while masculine and women really could get into places easier if they had a pretty face. With makeup and some stylish-yet-inexpensive clothes, Olivia could pull off most undercover ops. She was Tim’s Matches Malone.
Then Hood had shown up on the scene.

He had no other choice than to keep an eye on her. And kit her out with armor so she wouldn't accidentally get shot. When Jason finally wakes up from his walking coma, two things become immediately apparent: One, he is definitely at least a foot taller than he used to be. Two, he doesn't have wings.
Which, okay. He understands. The Lazarus Pit can't heal everything, and he wouldn't deserve it anyway. So it doesn't matter. He can live without his wings- there's no way he would let something as measly as that stop him.
Jason is fine. Really. Now, if only everyone else would accept it.

"Not exactly." Bruce paused for a minute, as if rehearsing something in his mind. "It's like your yo-yo. When you play with it, it goes up and down, right? It's kind of like that, except the yo-yo gets longer as the years go by. At first the yo-yo comes up a lot. But as time goes on you let the yo-yo down for a longer time, and it doesn't hit you as often. The yo-yo will still hit you, and it will still hurt, but it won't be so constant. It will get easier."
"With my yo-yo, I can stop bouncing it," Dick said. "But for this, there's no way to stop the bounce?"
"No," Bruce said. "There's no way to stop the bounce."
Dick was alright, until (unless) he wasn't.

Summary
The ghosts of Haly’s circus were bright, happy people, performers and acts whose adventuring spirits tethered them to the caravan. These spirits were benevolent, often blowing stray tickets back into the paths of their owners, or helping a ring land just right on a bottle for a child to win a prize. Sometimes, if they had the power, they’d protect the acts themselves, making sure the throwing knives stayed squarely away from the performer spinning on the wheel, or catching falls that might put a performer out of business for a couple stops otherwise.
Dick Grayson could proudly say he was very good friends with the ghosts of Haly’s circus.

When Dick stumbles across the ghosts of Wayne Manor dancing the night away in an abandoned wing of the house, he thinks that, finally, something might be normal again. But the ghosts are nervous, and he doesn't know why.
