Summary
As Starfleet starts to crack down on its inner corruption and re-opens the doors to synthetics, Veronika's life is crashing down around her. The Society her parents built is closing its walls against the outside world it now deems to be hostile, and Veronika can't stand to be trapped inside those walls again. So, she does what any classic Star Trek dumbass would and steals a ship, going rogue from her Starfleet and Society training in an attempt to take back control of her own life. But when her dying ship is intercepted by some unexpected strangers, she might just get to learn that she has a lot more in common with the synthetic life that led her on this flight in the first place than she ever expected.

Summary
Ophelia Carter is both an aspiring artist (ignoring the fact that most of her commissions are to paint overweight pets) and a cleaner for the rich and the powerful. It is through this that she meets one Mycroft Holmes, who has a ‘minor role in the British Government’, of which Ophelia thinks is bullshit. The thing is, Ophelia kind of gets the impression that beyond the icy exterior, he is only slightly possessive, rude and terrifying.
Also, she has a sneaking suspicion that she should not find him as amusing as she does. People are starting to think she’s mad.
A trail of murders from the last two years lead, eventually, to Ophelia, and thank God for the fact she cleans Mister British Government's house, otherwise she would be so screwed.

Turns out high school history class does come in handy, something you find out in the worst of circumstances. (Eg. being strangled to death by one James Buchanan Barnes).
Now a member of Bucky’s ‘cross country journey of self discovery,’ you find yourself slowly growing attached to the ex-assassin. The two of you discovering more than just lost memories.
After all, anything can happen on a road trip.
