"After the events of the last eleven years, I believe I will be tired for the rest of the century." Crowley's voice turned uninterested, but he shifted his weight in the chair in a way that had nothing to do with the angle of the sun and everything to do with the topic.
Aziraphale studied him. Crowley was still relaxed, ready, as ever, to slip into a nap wherever he was, but something was off, exactly like the arrangement of the bookstore.
It was no fun to complain if Crowley wasn't immediately rushing to fix everything, even as he pretended he wasn't. Aziraphale drummed his fingers on the box, then clucked. "Well, if you're still tired, let me freshen up the spare bedroom. I ought to see if anything's changed there anyway."

Summary
On Thursdays, Aziraphale goes to Muttropolitan Cafe to work on the sequel to his first big novel. It’s very stressful, being a newly-emerging author, and Aziraphale is anxious by nature; his therapist suggested finding calming places to work. The dog cafe is the perfect place to write.
It has nothing to do with Anthony, the attractive redhead who always refills his mug — how he's sweet and attentive, occasionally leaving a plate of biscuits at Aziraphale’s elbow when the flow of his writing takes over.

Aziraphale allowed himself a moment's respite from his conundrum to enjoy the first hit of the nicotine and made sure his precious fiery charge was safely within the protection of his umbrella. Somewhere to his left, the dull thumping of some modern-day bebop announced that Soho's immortal nightlife had woken up.
So now. Back to his dilemma.
The Tesco Metro had those very nice salmon and lemon fishcakes on offer this week; Sainsbury's Local had delicious chicken samosas every Thursday and they might even be half price by now seeing how late it'd gotten.

Summary
Aziraphale Fell, Ninth Duke of Tadfield, is quite happy with his life. He has his books, his friends, and no need for more. His sister, Michael, disagrees. She feels most strongly that Aziraphale should have a wife, and has determined to see him married with an heir on the way by the end of the Season. So she installs her husband's valet, Crowley, to spy on him and help her find him a wife.
Nobody is expecting the Duke and the valet to fall in love...

"Shall we sit down?"
"Huh?"
"Shall we, uhm, sit?" He mimes taking a seat to the best of his abilities on the now mostly-dry wall. The demon looks incredulous.
"What are you doing?"
"Really, Crawly, this was item iiv of chapter 1 of the memos. There were diagrams and everything." He plonks himself down, crosses his legs, and pats the wall by Crawly demonstratively with an outstretched arm. "You ought to try it, it relieves some pressure from your feet."
Eventually, the demon relents, folding in the many limbs of his body until one foot rests precariously on the edge of the wall, knee towards the sky, the other knee on the edge to allow his foot to dangle freely. The rest of his lanky body declines against his elbows, leaving his head to carry the heavy responsibility of looking utterly bewildered and his striking black wings to flap haphazardly behind them. "Like this?"
"Close enough," Aziraphale offers, politely.
