Summary
“I thought I was okay, but I guess I’m not,” Wakatoshi said, just enough for Satori to hear. The latter’s face softened, eyes filled with unrelenting worry and concern for his best friend whom he thinks of as his family—a platonic soulmate that he would risk his life for. “Do you miss him?” He asked straightforwardly which startled the other who looked at him with dull eyes. Wakatoshi thought for a moment and then nodded. “I do,” he answered.
Satori leaned on the counter with his arms crossed and looked at Wakatoshi with a firm gaze. “Then why don’t you go tell him that? Why don’t you do something to take him back? Do you think that moping around like this would bring him back to you? You’re smarter than this, Wakatoshi.” His words were unfiltered and sharp—he learned it was the best way to talk to his friend who almost always fail to communicate in such a straightforward way.
Wakatoshi inhaled sharply and pursed his lips before he spoke. “It’s not that easy, Satori.” Dejection was evident in his words. “Only you can help yourself, Wakatoshi. He’s not going to come back if you don’t do anything—if you don’t give him a reason to come back to you.”

Summary
He didn’t mind it at first, thinking that Kuroo would eventually realize that he was no longer interested in bantering and berating with him and hoped that he would eventually stop, but man was he wrong as Kuroo kept on purposely bumping into him, teasing him, and annoying him to the bone. Daishou just felt so tired of being childish and wanted to start anew—start acting more like a grownup than a child, but he was always being reminded of how childlike he was in high school whenever he would see Kuroo and whenever the man would come up to him to call him a certain nickname that he had already gotten used to hearing over the years.
“Hey there, slimy snake. Where art thou slithering to?”

Summary
He walked with his people and observed how they went about their day. He studied how their life was different from what he was used to and shared with them his own knowledge in return. He had also hoped that in that way, he would be able to properly mourn the death of his beloved dendro archon. There was still lingering pain and regret even after 500 years, after all, he was never there when the archon perished.
Zhongli, when he was still Morax then, felt so enraged. He threw rocks and meteors down the already extinguished life of Khaenri’ah and desecrated further its blood-soaked lands. But what was lost was already lost. There was no way the Heavenly Principles would hear his cries and pleadings to give him back the only beautiful thing in his mundane life. He had suddenly missed not caring about such things, but he didn’t have anyone else to blame but himself. Affection? Love? And between archons? Oh, how risible he was.

Parties were never Daishou's thing, and this night might become the only exception to his unyielding hate about it. Hopefully, this isn't just a dream.

"Why was Kuroo stabbing Daishou? He doesn't have any reason to," he told me with genuine curiosity. Like I care? Idiot. I only shook my head and faced my computer screen, looking at the cameras that are placed inside the house where Kuroo and Daishou are.

"Tomorrow is your birthday, Suguru."
"What did you say?"
"Your birthday...”
"Yeah, what about it?"
“...It's tomorrow.”
Daishou frowned before looking at the date on his laptop. "Fuck, it is tomorrow!" he exclaimed when he saw that it was already the 30th of June. He felt stupid by the fact that he remembered the deadline of his manuscript which was on the 3rd of July, but didn't remember his birthday which would be tomorrow, namely the 1st of July.
"Aren't you going to celebrate?"
Daishou grumbled. "I don't have time.”
