Summary
When the Aedyran envoy accidentally inhales the spores of an explosive mushroom, she develops a condition that sends her into an insatiable heat. Her companion — Kai — does his best to help, even if that assistance turns out to be more ‘hands-on’ than either of them expected.
Of course, not everything they feel can be blamed on the spores. As the night goes on, Stell and Kai begin to realize that their friendship goes far, far deeper than either of them have ever dared to hope.

Jobs were rarely as straightforward as they seemed - even on this scale, the gods themselves were hurling Blight, dragons, darkspawn - every possible diversion across her path. Even Rook, with her contagious sidelong smirk and a mouth smart enough to rival her own, continued to prove her right.
No - that wasn’t fair. Whittling her down to nothing more than a distraction left a bad taste in her mouth. But the alternative? That left far, far too many unanswered questions.

Kara holds the letter up for Alex to read. “They didn’t summon Supergirl,” she says. “They summoned Kara Danvers, freelance food critic and full-time reporter.”

Just to ruin the day of a being actually capable of feeling joy?”
“By the hells, Shadowheart, she’s taking the thing for a bloody walk,” Wyll says from his tent.
“A walk,” Shadowheart repeats, crossing her arms. “Why?”
“I assume the animals of this world require some amount of exercise if they’re not to collapse under the weight of their own atrophying muscles,” Lae’zel says. “But you wouldn’t know, would you? Do the disciples of Shar pre-kill their pets so they can skip right to the loss?”
