Blade huffs, as if he'd said the most ludicrous thing in the world. “Is that envy in your voice I hear, or are you only upset I targeted one of your conquests?” Dan Heng is left speechless at the accusation, eyes widening in shock as he’s unable to dispute the accusation.
“Or perhaps,” he murmurs, putting the final nail in the coffin, “you wish it were you I sunk my fangs into.”

One of the envelopes is suspiciously blank. There’s no name or address, or anything really to indicate who the letter’s intended for, let alone who the sender could’ve been. Out of curiosity Atsushi opens the letter and is taken aback by what he reads.
'You irritate me.'

“I’m freezing,” a voice sounds from behind him and Akutagawa lazily shifts his sight towards the source.
Atsushi’s seated in front of the fireplace. He’s hugging his knees and wrapped in a thick blanket yet shivering heavily in spite of it all. If Akutagawa listens closely, he can hear Atsushi’s teeth chattering.
It’s a rather pathetic display.

Akutagawa’s suddenly struck by the thought that if Atsushi were to enter that building he wouldn’t walk out again. He doesn’t understand where that idea came from but it instills fear deep into his bones. He has to stop Atsushi. No matter what.
So Akutagawa did the only thing he could think of at the moment. He reaches out.

The weretiger shifts next to him, likely to face him. "We’re supposed to report back to Dazai-san."
"That doesn't mean I need you to accompany me here or on the way back," he says. He turns to the weretiger for the first time and is met with a sneer.
"That's stupid," the weretiger grumbles and Akutagawa doesn't even bat an eye. "You're stupid," he finishes lamely and Akutagawa scoffs.

Atsushi’s confused. There are so many emotions raging inside of him but he doesn't recognize any of them. Every time he closes his eyes he can see Fukuchi slashing at Akutagawa’s neck. He can almost taste the copper in his mouth. But worst of all he can hear him, clear as day:
