Two years after losing her father in a workplace bombing, fifteen-year-old Hasegawa Olga is hit by a speeding truck and transported from the year 2007 to 1907, where she finds a soldier lying close to death on a frozen riverbank. While giving first aid, Olga encounters an army officer who greatly resembles her deceased father, Kouichi, and has scars matching her father’s fatal wounds. Although the officer, First Lieutenant Tsurumi, denies any relation, Olga speculates that he really is her father, who time-traveled after dying like she did, which leads to deep misunderstandings.
In the end, Tsurumi gives the destitute girl a male identity as “Hasegawa Osamu”—allegedly for her own safety—and the paid job of aiding the soldier she rescued, Superior Private Ogata Hyakunosuke, during his stay in the hospital, on the condition that she leaves the city once he recovers. Over time Ogata starts warming up to his kindhearted caretaker, whom he believes to be Tsurumi’s unwanted child. Six weeks later, the two embark on a journey together, with Ogata now less alone than his nickname, “Solitary Wildcat Sniper,” implies.

You wake up in the recently meant-to-be-deceased body of one Yuusaku Hanazawa, who survived purely because you took over his body after he was shot at 203 Hill.
Only problem is that Yuusaku's ghostly apparition is less than delighted about this new situation and is actively having a breakdown at any given moment, a certain Lieutenant is particularly good at sniffing out bullshit even with a missing brain chunk, and a cat-like older brother who swears up and down, sideways and backwards, that he shot his dearest little brother.
You on the other hand, have to fit in and pretend to be a character in one of your favourite manga while trying to help the plot along and save Ogata Hyakunosuke from certain doom, so it'll be a easy ride right?

With every rumble of wheels, the blade pushed further at the trigger. He waited, and he wasn't quite sure what he was waiting for, but he held his breath tightly in his shallow lungs. His heartbeat, his little cursed heart, pumped blood fervently, as if screaming at him that it still wished to serve its purpose, to live—
‘Brother, you were born a blessed child.’
A gentle nudge from Yuusaku’s cursed hands, a sudden bump in the tracks, and it all ended. Whether he was waiting for himself to put the gun down or for one of the others to stop him, it didn't matter in the end. Ogata felt his own neck crane to the recoil of having a bullet lodged into his skull, and he smiled, faintly, as a strange calm washed over him. One sure way to get rid of a wraith is to get rid of what it’s haunting in the first place.
He just didn't expect to wake up.
