Summary
His hair is overgrown. He doesn’t really have bangs anymore; they’re long enough now to tuck behind his ears, so Steve does, reaching up and doing so as gently as he can before he holds Eddie’s face tenderly. He’s so cold.
Steve looks at him, scanning his face, searching desperately for what to say. Eddie’s tears slip between his fingers again.
“…You are so fucking loved, Eddie Munson.”

Summary
When the power briefly goes out in their dorm, Eddie blindly grabs what he assumes to be a flashlight from Steve's bed. As if having a crush on his hot roommate wasn't enough, accidentally discovering his sex toy sends Eddie into such a spiral of graphic fantasies about Steve that he can no longer look him in the eye and tries to avoid him at all cost. Until Steve confronts him about his behavior one morning, and things take a very unexpected, rather embarrassing at first, but absolutely amazing turn, with Steve matching his freak down to a capital F.

Summary
“You’ll have to forgive me if I don’t believe you, Harrington. Straight boys don’t get off thinking about dick. That’s an indisputable fact of the universe, and a key point in my own personal doctrine.”
And maybe Steve should laugh, shrug, call it a night. He should do that, re-examine all of this when he’s sober.
He doesn’t. Instead, he says, “Try me.”
Eddie lifts himself up on an elbow, turning to his side so that he’s looming over Steve when he says, “Just to confirm…”
Steve nods encouragingly, bolstered by the absence of a dismissive laugh, an awkward change of topic.
“You’re saying that you want me,” Eddie continues, eyes darting between Steve’s, “to talk about fucking a dude. To see if you get hard.”
—
Or; Steve’s pretty sure he could get hard while thinking about gay sex, even though he’s straight. Eddie’s just along for the ride.

Summary
Eddie believes three core things about the art of performance. 1. all the world's a stage. 2. performance is both a weapon and a shield, he wields it as both. And 3. you can’t act death.
To quote Stoppard: “It’s not gasps and blood and falling about—that isn’t what makes it death. It’s just a man failing to reappear, that’s all…”
And Eddie had gasped and bled and fell about, and was foolish enough in that moment to believe that was death. But he forgot a crucial step: he reappeared.
Or: Steve is taking it day by day, flitting between the high school and the hospital and Hopper’s cabin, locking any thoughts of Eddie Munson away at the back of his mind. Meanwhile, Eddie is just trying to get out of the Upside Down, with nothing but a nail-shield and the world's worst company.

Steve didn't hate him exactly. He was just vastly irritated by his very presence. The guy was less mean and scary and mostly just annoying. When Robin moved out, Steve stayed even though it was clear Eddie would have preferred if he'd gone too.

Summary
‘Blood?’ Eddie says again.
Eyes black but for the slice of iridescent white in the centre. His teeth are sharp, his hands are weapons and Steve thinks maybe he’s made a mistake doing this without telling Eddie first. Eddie’s focus lowers, it moves to his left hand which is…
Oh fuck.
It’s dripping blood onto the floor.
‘Shit,’ Steve says, takes a single step back, swallows. ‘Eddie, I’m so sorry, fuck.’
Eddie can’t seem to look away, can’t bring his ethereal gaze back up where it belongs. Steve thinks he should run, he should flee. A tiny part of him knows Eddie will chase him. Eddie will catch him, outrun him easily.
It's more than a little fucked up how that thrills him.

Summary
Eddie Munson died on March 27th, 1986.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
No, wait. That’s not right. That’s Hitchhiker's Guide. Or was it Restaurant at the End of the Universe? Whatever, not important.
Eddie Munson died on March 27th, 1986.
Except…he didn’t. He couldn’t have. Because Eddie Munson is currently arguing with himself in his fucking head about sci-fi quotes, which doesn’t feel especially like something that a dead person would have the capacity to do.
The bats had killed him. There had been pain, and the sick sensation of tearing flesh. He’d had to swallow past a mouthful of his own blood to tell Henderson he loved him. Surely those were symptoms of imminent death.
And yet.
On April 1st, 1986, Eddie Munson opens his eyes in a dim hospital room. There’s a gasp from his left, and he tries to turn his head towards the source.
“Easy there, kid. They’ve got you trussed up pretty good.”
Eddie doesn’t need to see him. He’d know that voice anywhere, in any universe, hell dimension or otherwise.
“Uncle Wayne?”
A story about the families we find and the love that finds us.

Summary
After defeating Vecna, Eddie settles into life surrounded by suspicion and judgement. The government agents who covered up the Vecna Event, even intimated that they'll be able to give the Munson some compensation for their troubles. But that doesn't mean that life is easy when everyone in town still thinks Eddie killed Chrissy Cunningham. The only solace Eddie finds is in the new, blossoming friendship he's found with Steve Harrington. But as the pair get closer over the summer of '86, Eddie can't shake the knowledge that one day, maybe soon, that call is going to come, and he and Wayne will be given an impossible choice - stay and try to get by, or leave and start anew.

Summary
Eddie loathes the idea of soulmates. The words his soulmate will say the moment they realize they are in love with him sit heavy on his wrist. Heavy like a burden, like a cursed prophet, harbinger of death. Others cry tears of joy when they get their words, Eddie had cried tears of anxiety. The dark letters on his wrist read, “Dustin died.”
On the other side of town and yet worlds apart from Eddie, Steve loathes the words on his wrist just as much. Not because he doesn’t want a soulmate. No, he longs for them every day. And every day is a painful reminder that he hasn’t found them yet when someone randomly calls out his words. The letters on his wrist simply say, “Hey Steve.”

Summary
“I used to give Nancy massages,” Steve says.
It’s out before he even knows where it came from. Really it’s like somebody else said it, commandeering his voice — the thought process didn’t happen, or if it did, it happened without Steve’s supervision. Maybe something to do with brown waves of hair, dimmed lights. He’s too busy balking at his words to retroactively connect any dots, at the moment, so he can’t be too sure.
Eddie’s just as confused, it seems, because he goes completely still. The silence hangs heavy, for the three or four seconds it’s there, and Steve wishes he could see Eddie’s face. Finds himself incapable of guessing at the expression he might be wearing right now. He just has to stare at the back of his head, the tensed line of his shoulders, until Eddie finally says, “Oh, yeah?”
-
(Eddie's back is all fucked up. Steve lends a hand.)
