The day following the trade for the amulet with Dark Cucurucho, Ash tries to confront Ewroon, but it's getting dark and Ewroon keeps insisting on liege wie.
As Ewroon starts panicking, Ash slowly realizes that there is a reason why always harasses everyone to liege wie, Ewroon had PTSD and was having a panic attack.
So, even if he's still angry at him, he has to take care of him.The idea popped in my head that Ewroon could have a reason for his constant spam of liege wie. That he could have been a child experiment from the federation, just like Ash, and I just went on from there, I hope you'll enjoy!

Summary
The first clue had been the silence.
Don’t get him wrong; Ash was very aware that Ewron was able to stay quiet when the situation needed it — as rarely as that occurred. This was empty, almost neglectful. A silence that meant nothing.
They stood in the middle of the ocean, a fair distance away from the shore of the Regime — its silhouette still visible in the horizon. Each had brought their own boat, per custom, one red, one lavender; the gentle push of the waves rocking them into the familiar comfort.
But Ewron wasn’t familiar anymore, and the ripples could not loosen the knot in Ash’s throat nearly enough to let him breathe.-
A short AU/Canon Divergence where Ewron's not quite himself, as far as Ash could tell.

Ewron leaned an inch too far over the side of the boat, just enough for his wet boots to lose traction on the damp wood. “Shit–”
He tried to catch himself, arms flailing for balance, before he toppled over the side and hit the water with a loud, chaotic splash.
“Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me,” Ash muttered. Then, without hesitation, he dove in after him, cutting through the cold, churning water.
OR,
During one of Ewron and Ash’s usual boat meetings, Ewron accidentally injures himself, leaving him bedbound under Ash’s care.
Ash would be a fool not to take advantage of the situation and make fun of the clumsy red panda hybrid.

Two crescent moons (more crater than lunar dust). Stunted. Weighted down by neglect. Ewron can’t tell which bird they’re corresponding to, but the murky black pinions sit huddled between Ash’s shoulderblades like a narrow valley.
“Wings,” Ash says it through his teeth, as though admitting to a nasty, untreated wound. But they’re incredible—like a siren or an angel—Ewron can’t decide, not when his hands are already searching for a bucket. “I could never reach them. They’re kind of. A mess, now.”
