Well okay, in full disclosure, Bucky Barnes is trying to date Captain America. In between the alien invasions, the rips in space and time, the absconding of Thor just when the Avengers needed him the most, and the Red Wedding—which Bucky is still working to process, with the help of two message boards, his 162 Twitter followers, and therapist—it isn’t going particularly successfully, but he is trying. He has, at a minimum, gotten Steve Rogers to give him his phone number and, on occasion, even reply back to Bucky using an appropriately selected emoji.
The problem isn’t the will, or even the lack thereof, of two persons—one a millennial municipal employee with amazing hair and legs for days, and one, superhero, supersoldier, and the human manifestation of golden fucking retriever—the problem is well, Bucky gestures vaguely at the circumstances around them.

The bifrost is broken and Thor is stranded on Earth, working for SHIELD without any authorized documents. Loki gets way too drunk and regrettably horny one night and offers to marry the big, dumb superhero for a green card.
This turns out to be a mistake, because even though Thor is smoking hot, the Avengers keep breaking Manhattan, Loki’s apartment suffers an unfortunate setback, and the U.S. government requires way too much paperwork. Also, Loki hates his job and his best friend is in love with Captain America.
This would only happen to him. Loki would take a nap, if anyone would goddamn let him. Instead, he gets bangs.

This is the story of how Bucky and Thor pick up the pieces of their lives, find their own worth, find their own person, and find their way out of a multiverse of 100 realities stitched together with 100 tropes.
