Summary
Dutch has become caught up in his outlandish plans once again, which is nothing new to Hosea. Except for this time, it involves an unruly teen.
And Hosea is not happy.
Although, he'll soon discover that maybe the boy isn't all that he seems.
This story follows the gang and includes events that happened pre-game. It was originally going to be a series of one-shots but grew into a character study of sorts. The gang has been through its fair share of heartbreak, but there was also a lot of good in the past.

“What. The fuck. Did you do?”
Vox’s eyes snapped open. That was his voice. He hadn’t said anything though, had he?
He jerked his head up against his better judgment, vision swimming. The world around him was all wrong. Whether it was the result of destructive interference or his impact with the brick wall, something was fucking with his color and depth perception. Almost everything was awash in shades of yellow and brown. Meanwhile, his right eye refused to focus.
Something…moved on top of his head as he closed his right eye so he could actually see the figure looming a few feet away.
Blue. So much blue. It was blindingly bright against the otherwise drab colors.
Then it hit him.
He wasn’t staring at Alastor.
He was staring at himself.
“Oh, shit,” he breathed, jolting when Alastor’s feedback filled voice spoke the words.

Whatever happened in Heaven has started a dangerous chain of events that is going to bring to light more dirty secrets from the seemingly perfect realm.
Heaven has lied and Angel has suffered as a result. Heaven wants to forget him. Hell wants to use what Angel has become against Heaven.
Angel's not who he used to be and seems to only want destruction and suffering. But all Husk wants is the one he cares for most to come back to him even if he has to suffer at that same person's hands.

“Rest, John.” She kissed his fevered brow. Then, her voice back to its usual bluntness, she added, “And try not to fall off, you damn fool.”

Steve moves his arms, palms sliding to cup its cheekbones, thumbs brushing over the deep bags under its eyes. His hands are calloused but they are warm and the Asset is far too warm at the moment but it's Steve touching it and would a leper, no matter how infested by sickness, pull themself from God's hands? No.
or: Steve tracks down the Winter Soldier after the bridge fight, but not in time — he is still wiped and again doesn’t remember him. SHIELD (in an operation spearheaded by Steve) captures him, and amidst Bucky’s drug withdrawals and trauma responses, try to rehabilitate him. Considering himself an it, a machine and nothing more, Steve tries to have a decimated Bucky remember who he is.

Sam watches him closely. The way Bucky was getting tense and choked up – it was completely unfamiliar. He doesn’t think he’s ever seen the man show any sort of emotion other than rage before. Except, a memory rings, clear as a bell–“Your mother's name was Sarah. You used to wear newspapers in your shoes.”
There was a fondness there. Sam can remember that clearly as day. It was disorienting at the time. The man had just tried to kill them, but when he looked at Steve, his expression became soft and warm. Thats what Steve saw – that bright, blind, unyielding affection. Sam had seen it too, but he didn’t know what to make of it at the time. He thinks he might, now.
