Summary
Soobin tried not to stare as he followed behind Yeonjun. He couldn’t even remember the last time Yeonjun had looked in his direction, much less spoken to him. They arrived at Yeonjun’s car, and Soobin clambered into the passenger seat. Yeonjun started the car and pulled into the street.
“Whatcha been up to lately?”
“Oh, um. You know, mostly just… studying, and stuff.” Soobin cringed internally. Yeonjun was sporty, good-looking, and very popular among the girls at their school. Soobin’s life probably seemed incredibly boring by comparison.
“Studying?” Yeonjun wrinkled his nose in distaste. “Surely you’ve got better things to do.”
“Not really.” Soobin looked down at his hands.
“Nothing?” Yeonjun pressed. “No friends, no girlfriend? You don’t even have like, a part-time job or something?”
Soobin shook his head. He thought that maybe Yeonjun would be disappointed, or would think that he was weird. To his surprise, Yeonjun smiled.
“Great! You can join my club, then.”
“Um, what club?”
Yeonjun peered out the window as they turned the corner onto their street. “I’m starting a club for psychics.”- Language:

…They stumbled back, and in a moment of panic Yeonjun shot out his hand to steady both them and himself.
Much to his own embarrassment, the man was Soobin.
And far worse than that revelation was the one that he was currently gripping Soobin’s now bare ass, towel fallen to the ground, with his free hand like his life depended on it.
Yeonjun blinked, as if there were not a bare ass under his fingertips, the flesh of which was incredibly supple. No one moved, both unsure how to respond. It felt like an eternity that they’d locked eyes, even though it was probably just a few seconds
It was Soobin that broke the silence.
“I’m really glad your phone was in your right hand, could you imagine if you grabbed the other side?”

Yeonjun was on his way home from school, whistling to himself, when a hedgehog rolled onto the sidewalk in front of him. It was all balled up, but soon enough it uncurled and looked at him with beady black eyes.
“Hi,” Yeonjun started, unsure. He bent down to get a closer look, on all fours. He was just about to straighten up and continue on his way when the hedgehog jumped, about a foot straight up in the air, and snatched his name tag in its mouth.
“Hey!” He shouted, shocked, as it rolled away again. The hedgehog disappeared down an alley, and Yeonjun made sure his satchel was secure before taking off after it. “I need that, my mom’s gonna kill me if I lose it again!”
The hedgehog, of course, paid no attention. It streaked around a corner, and went across the road into the back side of the park. His mom really would kill him if he came home with the breast of his jacket empty.
“Stop,” Yeonjun panted. “Hedgehog, come here, little hedgie-hedgie. Pleeeease,” he whined. To his immense surprise, the hedgehog stopped. It dropped his name tag on the ground about ten feet ahead of him.
“Sorry about that,” a voice said. Yeonjun screamed. The hedgehog was talking to him.

Stiles could still remember Derek with a slave collar, so much younger: his face contorted with pain when he couldn't change on the full moon, his hand scrabbling at his neck like he was being choked. His fingers wrapped around the moonstone and metal, pulling and tearing for all he was worth, but still not strong enough to break it. How Derek had collapsed back against the wall in defeat, hands clenched into useless fists.
Stiles shuddered at the memory, not sure that Derek would survive it this time if they collared him. Scratch that -- sure Derek wouldn't want to survive it this time. He'd rather die than live as a slave to the Argents.

This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

::2019 note: This story was written BEFORE the TV show introduced the character of Gwaine. It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::
