“Please, please… Please… A-Alpha,” he whispers the last part, seeking refuge in the strong and steady beat in Erwin’s left chest.Erwin’s lips fall to the rigid scar on his nape, kissing hot and open-mouthed with a pinch of his teeth, a gentle warning that if he doesn’t stop, he’ll be forced to put him in a scuff hold.
He gives up immediately, denying his body and instincts. Tears instantly fill his shut eyes.
“You’ll go with Hange, and stay with those I trust to keep you safe,” Erwin directs, his voice a low scrape from his chest. He scents his throat as he explains this. “I need you to endure this a little longer. Will you do that for me?”
He grinds his jaw until it aches. For Erwin, he finds it in himself to drunkenly nod.

“Yeah, yeah, but dad dropped some lore while you were out! You guys met because you blackmailed him and then he tried to kill you?”
“Twice,” Levi supplied helpfully, unmoved by the bewildered look his ambushed husband shot him.

Christmas arrives unnoticed, along with the realization that being kept warm isn’t always about the fire—and that Levi maybe shouldn’t have complained about Erwin being too gentle.
