Almost. “Why have you brought a bunch of strange men to my house at,” she checked her watch briefly - was it really that late already? “One o’clock in the morning?”
Both the lack of screaming and the fact that the word she chose specifically to refer to them as being “men” and not “freaks” or, worse, “monsters”, did not escape their notice, though they had far more urgent things on their mind at the moment.
“Please,” The man wearing blue, katanas strapped to his back as he lifted something large, spoke. His voice was almost desperate. Pleading, “He needs help.”
She had helped April far too many times with this sort of predicament. They had developed a protocol. How had this become her most consistent friendship?

reader doesn't have a sense of purpose or belonging so they stick with the sully family to fill that hole. since they are older jake expects a lot from them, which in turn makes neteyam feel jealous and useless. conflict! the plot follows that of the movie loosely
