Everyone knows Puyo battles. They're fun, good for friendly competition, and the most popular way to settle a conflict. In a way, a lot of the world is built around this activity. It's a sport, a language, and so much more. At this point, some people think they can't live without Puyos...
So what if they had to?
Due to the overabundance of Puyo battles, Puyos disappeared at such a rapid rate that they eventually became endangered. As a result, Puyo battles are now illegal for an indefinite amount of time while they reproduce. People will have to settle grudges another way... and it's not always rosy...

Contrary to what Ranboo seems to think, Technoblade is not an oblivious man. The type of life he's lived only allows for so many mistakes, after all, and while the commune is far away from most of the action, Techno's had any ideas of safety thoroughly disillusioned.
Also, you know, he has semi-omnipotent voices inhabiting his head. Bit hard to keep big things secret from him for too long.
Or: Five times Technoblade notices something's up with Ranboo and Tubbo, and one time he gets outright confirmation.

Did Dream bring you back?” He paused, but not long enough for Wilbur to answer. “Wait, I didn’t answer your question. I’m Ghostbur! So I’m you, but dead and a ghost, but not really. Wait, if you’re alive, why am I still here?” Ghostbur frowned. “I don’t think I should be here if you’re alive again. Do you think that’s why no one can see me?” He gasped and covered his face with his hands. “What if Friend can’t see me?”
Then he started crying.
Wilbur had been alive again for ten minutes and was not emotionally ready to deal with his ghost sobbing.

Wilbur has been traveling for over a year, stealing from different dimensions as he went to keep himself going. Pocket watch in hand, he's seen hundreds of different dimensions. He's determined to reach his goal, but with the I.D.T.A. chasing after him at every corner, and his escapes from trouble becoming narrower and narrower, he's beginning to wonder if he'll ever find what he's looking for, or if he'll just end up sent home to deal with the broken remains of the old life that he left behind.
