Summary
After Brian breaks his wrist a few days before Queen is supposed to start a massive world tour in celebration of their 50th Career Anniversary, the band reluctantly agrees on searching for a backup guitarist to step in if Brian’s problematic injury becomes an issue in the middle of the performance.
What Roger least had expected, though, was to be faced with someone who accidentally evoked painful memories of the most difficult decision of his life or even worse, that she happened to be a brilliant musician whose resemblance to himself and Brian was absolutely uncanny.
Naturally, he was sure she probably had nothing to do with him or everything he had given up. She was there just to aid the band when necessary and to serve as a painful reminder of what he had lost.
Or so he thought.Aka: The Lost!Baby Maylor story no one asked for.

“For fuck’s sake, Fred.” Roger ran his hand down his face and shook his head, his voice soft and so unlike his. The feeling in Freddie’s stomach only doubled, swirling streams of dread and guilt twirling together and rising into his throat. “That’s not the fucking book, is it?”
“What?” Freddie closed the book and turned it over in his hands. “It’s full of songs, darling. What are–”
“I don’t give a shit! You weren’t meant to bring the purple one.”
Freddie kept his eyes on the notebook in his hand, a rock forming around his heart and cutting off his breath as his mind flashed back. He remembered finding it and laughing at how Roger couldn’t tell the difference between the actual colour of the book and the colour he thought it was.
“Blue, Fred. I said fucking blue.”
OR
Freddie picks up the wrong notebook and, as a result, sings a song that was never meant to be heard.
