Trapped in the Beasts, waiting for Link to free them, the Champions remember the Hero. Well, three do: Revali remembers Link, the silent knight who can't take care of himself and who, somehow, irritatingly, became a constant in his life.
As Link works to fulfill the Princess' commands, he tries to order the memories that press on him, inconsistent and confusing. But there's one voice that remains steady (if annoying), and in Rito Village, he finds the place that doesn't make demands of Hylia's Hero.
(Or, getting Link to the fight with the Calamity in one piece and then making sure he stays in one piece after. And eat. And sleep. And possibly have him and a certain [the best] Rito Warrior acknowledge *feelings*)

Summary
They have broken fate into something better: the Calamity is sealed, the Champions live, Hyrule will rebuild. Yet the death of the king and much of the Hylian court unsettles the balance of power, and while Zelda recovers from the Calamity, the army moves to seize control.
Worse, the Calamity is not the only piece of history lodged in the bedrock of Hyrule. Deep under the ground, other histories await. Some start to seep up.
Link is not yet rid of fate – but nor is he alone in facing it.

Ghost definitely banished Grimm, along with Brumm. The charm Nymm gave them, his Carefree Melody, is proof of what they both did.
So, it's a little disconcerting to meet Grimm again in the Pantheons within Godhome. More-so that he seems to have nothing to say—nor even cognizant that he was banished.

It accepts gracefully, knowing its death serves the purpose of fighting entropy... right up until it can't.

"Robin!" Chrom yells again but this time he feels slightly less guilty at the other’s flinch. “I'd never— why would you think I'd stab you?! We beat Grima, didn't we?”
Robin laughs again with that same bitter smile and something ugly coils around Chrom’s heart.
...
Chrom is very confused, and all he can do is lean closer and grab Robin’s other hand in reassurance. "Tell me what's wrong."
Robin makes several false starts, his expression shifting from amused to hesitant to crestfallen. Finally, he takes a deep breath and opens his eyes.
All six of them.
After defeating Validar and destroying Grima, Chrom waits for Robin to wake up. When he does, he realises that nothing’s gone quite as planned, both for the better and for the worse.
Robin has his memories back. All of them.
And he is Grima as much as he is Robin.

The thing is, the book never went on past the Keyblade War, so who knows what happened after that? Maybe the heroes managed to do the unthinkable and bring home a victory after all. Maybe all you need to do the impossible is a will that refuses to die and a willingness to keep going even when all seems lost.
(Unfortunately, after the Warriors of Light eat dirt at the Keyblade Graveyard, the only one left around to do anything about the coming apocalypse is Vexen and was there a single person in that whole wasteland less suited for grand heroics? Maybe the cricket.)
