Summary
Following similar fanfiction ideas, in which Lucerys receives a second chance to change everything, this narrative is inspired by Chinese novels and shaped from that concept.
In the story, Lucerys volunteers to go to Storm's End to claim the support of House Baratheon. Unsuccessful, he sets off into the storm—only to be surprised by his uncle. A chase ensues, and he dies. This would be the end of one of Rhaenyra Targaryen's sons… But what if his soul simply refused the destiny imposed upon him?
His consciousness is taken to the court of the gods. There, deities discuss, rival, and dispute his future while young Velaryon watches in silence. A game will decide his path. The coin is tossed—and each pantheon weighs upon it as it spins in the void.
When it finally touches the ground, fate shatters. The gods grant him a second chance. Not enough to return before the usurpation of the throne, nor to prevent the fight in the Dragonpit.

After living for so many years at the mercy of harsh and arbitrary punishments, this is the very first thing he can think to ask for. If Luo Binghe weren’t so full of years worth of resentment, this is perhaps where he would stop, content only with protecting himself. But he is resentful. He’s full of hatred and bitterness that he doesn’t know how to get rid off, and he wants… he wants to make Shen Qingqiu pay.
Just a little. He won’t kill or mutilate him. In the end, the man is his shizun. He has not done enough to deserve that much. But he has earned to be toyed with a little, hasn’t he?

The arrays made specifically to repel his magic could as well have Shang Qinghua's name engraved on them with how precise he was at making them. Every line crudely drawn to keep him and his people out, every stroke carefully infused with Shang Qinghua's singnature qi feels like a coy last game in this little chase they have been keeping for too long already. As if trying to coax him to go inside and retrieve him faster.
