“Jupiter?” Saturn’s voice was calming as ever—but at the same time, quiet in a way that unnerved him. “Can you come inside, please?”
He threw one more glance down either side of the hallway before dipping into the room. Saturn sat behind the desk, a tentative smile on his face, his expression otherwise distressed in a way that tugged at his heart. It made him want to lean forward and draw him into a hug, though Jupiter strangled the urge back with a practiced ease.
The circlet atop his head sat tilted at an angle, like he’d run his hands through his hair forgetting it was there. He sighed once Jupiter had pulled the door closed, shoulders slumping down as he drooped against the desk. “They’re annoyed as ever. About everything, it seems,” he lamented, one hand rubbing against the back of his neck before dropping onto the desk. “I can’t make a single move without them scolding me about it.”
