Summary
Timothy Drake is a civilian, a normal boy. Kind of. He's normal in that he keeps secrets and has some hobbies. Those secrets and hobbies, though, are a little unique...and completely, 100% revolve around the crime-fighting family of Gotham.
A good friend of the Waynes, Tim finds himself dodging his heroes' attempts to reveal their identities to him in a misguided attempt to keep the status quo. No one seems to want to let it rest, unfortunately for Timothy Drake.

It’s over remarkably quickly. The winning Batman leaves the losing Batman on the floor, still and broken, and Superman moves quickly to tie that one up as Winning Batman turns away. Turns toward Damian.
His shoulders slump, and Damian feels numb. This is not his Batman.

Mama’s chest is unfamiliarly firm. She never was soft, but she always felt frail under his hands, paper thin skin and bones of unfired clay — like her ribcage would collapse on itself if he rested his head on her breast. The Hunter groans as he wraps an arm around his waist, face scrunched up. He is still asleep.

Jason has been captured by a Hunter after attempting to feed off the man. Against his expectations, the Hunter does not kill him, but that does not mean his fate will be kinder. There are worse fates than death and things more dangerous than a sharp sword.

It's only a whisper, snatched by the wind, but Nightwing hears him all the same, words softening on his tongue, turning dark eyes towards where the boy isn’t as hidden behind the stone, steadying himself against it, shivering, but meeting his eyes.
“Damian,” Nightwing echoes, purring gently, crawling closer with the slowest of movements but none of them startle the boy and he doesn’t hurry to hide himself back in the shadows; moving close enough that if the boy took a single step he’d be able to reach out and touch. And with a smile; “my name is Nightwing.”Or: Nightwing travels down the mountain to find the village's tribute and finds something infinitely more precious.

Batman: Re-imagined
In this world, Bruce Wayne managed to successfully heal himself through therapy and consequently did not take on the mantle of being Gotham's vigilante. Despite of this, he still managed to adapt four sons: Richard Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damian Wayne--all unbeknownst to him are part of Gotham's most prominent heroes: The Gotham Knights.
Why did Dick, Jason, Tim and Damian chose to become vigilante heroes? And how will the 'lack of Batman' change Gotham's villains? Will Bruce ever find out about the nightly activities of his sons? Will the Wayne family survive the chaos that will come to Gotham?

"Fate must have a strange sense of humor putting the four of them under the same roof. Then again, it's Gotham. The city isn't exactly known for its sense of humor."
AU where Dick is 12, Jason is 11, Tim is 10, and Damian is 8(?) and instead of being taken in by Bruce, the four of them end up together in a foster home run by a very neglectful parent. But they have each other so life isn't so bad. As long as they keep their heads down, get enough food, and not get caught in their various "activities", the four should be fine.
So maybe they should learn to stop running into the Dark Knight of Gotham.

Timothy Drake was a stillborn baby. He was born dead, stayed that way for a solid five minutes, and was then resuscitated in the delivery room. He was a child who grew up alone, but for his imaginary friends. He had so many imaginary friends, in fact, that his parents sent him to get evaluated several times over the course of his childhood, which was spent with Tim as the only heartbeat in that house.
