His soul was slamming against his ribs, thudding loud in his ears, and it was the only indication that he wasn't dead already. He needed this. Needed it more than he needed air in his lungs. He was dying and this was the only thing that could stop it, the only thing that would rip out the tumor-like dread crawling up through him like a blight. He needed Tenna to reach inside him and rip out the writhing, undulating mass inside him and kill it for good.
Instead of saying any of this, he whispered a ragged "please," and hoped—God, Angel, whatever was listening, he hoped—that the tone of his voice would convey everything his words couldn't.

What other explanation would there be for the sheer number of scenes with Tenna pinning Darkners down and shooting them point blank? Or for the scene where Tenna knocked someone out cold with the butt of the shotgun? Tenna had to have known watching that would do horrible things to Spamton. He had to.

At first glance, you could've perceived it as them working hard, taking their jobs seriously, but upon further examination, you could tell they half-assed it because it was already getting late.
Spamton was very aware of this. The way his colleagues treated him of late was hardly a secret. He defeatedly admitted that he’s been feeling a little… short-tempered lately. And he knew exactly why that was.

Even before the night began, Spamton had assumed Tenna would be an emotional drunk. It made perfect sense with his personality. The way his feelings always erupted at full force, how he would neurotically drum his fingers against the side of his leg when a show wasn't going well, even to the way he fidgeted and messed with his tie; it all pointed to an easy way to butter the TV host up to accept some of the salesman's more farfetched ideas.
What Spamton didn't expect was just how clingy he would be.
