Summary
Tubbo was having a bad streak.
It started when Dream challenged one of his claims and Tubbo found himself unable to counter his challenge without revealing his true nature to the members of his cabinet. Letting Dream put his filthy and greedy little hands on his best friend as he dragged him away from his domain was one of the hardest things he’d had to bear. But it was a sacrifice he’d needed to make.
Wilbur, the main founder of L’Manburg, hadn’t really been fond of gods and their schemes, probably because he was fed up with the ones he had in his family, and the sentiment was shared among the citizens. If they found out that their very recently elected president was himself a god there would have been an uproar and the city would not have survived that.
So Tubbo grit his teeth and let Dream think he’d won.
(...)
Techno never had much of an interest in mortal affairs, so for him to get involved too was truly bad luck. If Tubbo believed in beings higher than himself he might have thought that they hated him.

“Ah, Killer” Ink greeted him with an all too fake cordial smile. The only thing betraying his aggressive demeanor was the red tint and the target-like shape of his eye lights. “Just the skeleton we wanted to see!”.
Killer frowned.
He had never interacted with them much outside of the battlefield. One would have thought that maybe they would have been by Core’s side when the gray child was offering a way out to all of Nightmare’s old lackeys. But they weren’t. They were nowhere to be found back then.
“If you let Dust go I’ll hear you out” he proposed.
Ink’s eye lights turned into a yellow star and a green square for a moment, making his amusement at the offer apparent. He would have undoubtedly remarked on how they were the ones holding all the power in that exchange and that he was in no position to make demands, had Dream not stepped forward, interrupting him. “It’s a deal” the Positivity Mogul said.

Summary
When Sans disappeared rumor had it that he’d jumped into the Core just like his dad had.
Papyrus heard the gossip. Even living in a relatively big city like New Home it was impossible to avoid. Sans was well known everywhere in the underground. He worked a bit here and there for multiple people. And he’d been made long ago into the right hand of the King.
He didn’t believe it though. He had figured that, eventually, Sans would contact him again and clear everything up. And then they could put that misunderstanding behind them and laugh about it over a hearty home-cooked meal.
He definitely didn’t expect Sans to just step into his living room from a big black swirling portal a couple of weeks after he’d disappeared like nothing ever happened. But he did. And he was carrying a heavy box full of soul balm and was being followed by a shorter and more shoddily-dressed copy of him with dark goop falling from his eyes and a worryingly exposed soul.

Summary
Nights were always the worst in Logstedshire. The air blowing from the sea was frigid and it never ceased screaming in Tommy’s ears and rattling his shabby little tent. Shadows shook and stretched reaching toward him, their visage was never so menacing in the warm light of day but under the silver shine of the moon, they grew in size and malicious intent.
It was no surprise that the first time he saw him was during one of the many long winter nights he spent in exile.
Tommy had been sitting up on his bed doing his best to create a safe cocoon out of the tattered summer blanket Dream got for him many weeks before, when Tubbo appeared sitting on the chest he kept by his bed. He was wearing his presidential suit, although it fit him much better than the last time Tommy saw him, and he was staring at him silently. His brows were furrowed and he stuck out his tongue as he always did when he was pensive.
Tommy knew that what he was seeing wasn’t real.

Summary
“I can explain” Tubbo rushed out, raising his hands placatingly even though he most definitely could not explain. That was the whole reason why he had made the trek to the Arctic Commune in the first place.
Techno didn’t pull out a rocker launcher as his first response, so the encounter at least went better than Tubbo originally expected.
He did, however, slowly bring his right hoof to the hilt of his sword and squint his eyes menacingly at Tubbo. A warning not to step any closer that the young goat was eager to respect as he had no intention of figuring out how far he could push his new body before it broke. He thought he didn’t care, but staring death in the eyes had a way of making people reconsider their life choices.
After a few moments of silence where Techno studied him to assess the level of threat he posed, the pig spoke: “… Are you XD with a whole new meat suit or…?”.

Summary
Wilbur struggled to believe how quickly things got out of control.
One moment he’d been on a podium, announcing the results of the elections, and the next he’d been running for his life with Tommy by his side as his only remaining ally while harming-tipped arrows whizzed past them.
Things kept going downhill from there.
First, he had to witness Fundy, his baby boy, his little champion, the one good thing he’d contributed to the world, set fire to the flag that Niki had painstakingly sewn by hand.
And, only a few days later, Tommy, his muse, his little brother, his rock through the darkest of times, had started to act weird as well.
Wilbur had caught him more than once talking to Tubbo in private in a dark corner of the ravine. He could never get close enough to eavesdrop on their conversation without Tubbo noticing and giving him a look that could have killed Prime herself, but he could tell from Tommy’s nervous body language and Tubbo’s assertive attitude that something shady was happening between them. Something nefarious enough to make even his chaotic gremlin of a brother uncomfortable.

Summary
A golden portal opened up above one of the snow puffs Papyrus had mercilessly torn apart. Out of it stepped two skeleton monsters that were similar in appearance to his brother, yet not identical.
Now, Papyrus wasn’t dumb. And, not only that, but his brother never considered him as such and often used him as a sounding board for all his wacky science theories. And one of the said theories had been about parallel universes and the likelihood of different versions of them existing somewhere out there. Sans had mostly brought it up as a way to create an escape route for them, and that was what the machine in their basement was for. Though, as it got reset every time the human was done having their fun, he’d quickly abandoned the project.
However, the Multiverse being real opened them up to another much more alluring solution: that being that someone out there in the infinite number of universes that existed had to know how to get rid of the anomaly permanently. How to not only kill them but also erase them from existence.

Summary
Dream had devised the greatest plan ever to establish his influence over one of L’Manburg’s most prominent figures, Tommy.
He started his masterful plan by leaving a chest full of resources for Tommy at his base with a book inside of it declaring his support for their cause. Whatever said cause might have been. He’d figured out pretty soon that the answer to that question varied depending on who you asked it to. According to Techno, Pogtopia’s mission was fighting tyranny and bringing about anarchy. According to Tommy, it was to get their home back. And according to Wilbur, it was to put an end to his symphony, whatever the fuck that meant.
He let a couple of days go by after leaving his gift, before showing up in the ravine Pogtopia’s few members had hidden inside of. He didn’t want to look too suspicious. Or too desperate.
Unfortunately, when he got there, Tommy wasn’t alone. Wilbur was somewhere down there, mumbling to himself, but he wasn’t a major cause for concern. Tubbo, however, who was sitting on the chest Dream had sent talking with Tommy while glaring daggers at him, was.

“Pain isn’t the only sign of discomfort your body gives you”. Color kept his voice low and his tone kind and helpful. He made sure never to come off as condescending even when explaining something that to anyone else would have been obvious. He didn’t need to remind Delta that kind of thing. He didn’t need to be reminded of it either.
Killer was the only fucked up one in their relationship.
He was the only one who couldn’t tell if he genuinely liked something or if he was just afraid of being discarded like a broken toy if he said ‘no’. He was the only one who had to put on an act even when he enjoyed something because expressing his emotions honestly felt too vulnerable. He was the only one who would dissociate mid-fuck and ruin everything.
“Well, I’m not dissociating anymore now” he pointed out. “So we can get back to it”. Despite how assertive he sounded, he didn’t try to move to give Color better access to his soul again. He remained curled up like Color had positioned him before, hands holding the blanket around him like a shield.
He didn’t know why his body was refusing to obey him.

Journal Entry Number 1:
I thought being away from that Hellish white void would feel… warmer. But it seems as if an eternal chill permeates the castle Nightmare brought me to. I’ve never been happier to have my heavy coat, Chara agrees with me for once.
Maybe it’s because there is no sunlight here. There is no moonlight either. There is just nothing outside these walls, only a deep black void. Perhaps to discourage runaways? It only makes me want to run more though.
If only Nightmare wasn’t our only choice… Ink would have never helped us, I know that now.
My teammates are no less frosty than our glorified prison. I’ve been here three days already and I’ve only seen one of them smile, Killer. I know it’s not genuine, however. Nobody is happy all the time, and that’s doubly true in this place. If anything, his grin looks painted on. It’s unsettling. I don’t trust him.

Summary
He looked around, still on edge, trying to find the best escape path. The creature was looking at him, head cocked to the side, frowning. Whatever it was upset about didn’t concern Ranboo, however. He needed out of there, and he needed to find his actual husband again. Tommy stood next to it, the Prime necklace he always wore over his clothes had been swapped out for the Tubbo compass that Ghostbur had gifted him during his time in exile, and it now hung from a green chain instead of a purple one. He got stuck on that odd detail for a moment too long, so he quickly turned away from his old friend without even making eye contact with him. The embarrassment of probably having been caught staring was too much. To round off the group, Techno was standing a few blocks away from them, looking far more calm and relaxed than he had ever seen him before.
Needless to say, the amount of out-of-place details was putting him even more on edge than he already was due to the overwhelming experience of being alive again.
Was the creature to be blamed for them? Had it done something to his friends? Would it do something to him too?

“You know…” Ccino started. He usually was too busy to chat, so Ink was pleasantly surprised by the offered distraction. Anything that kept the boredom at bay even if only for a little bit was welcome in his book. “I didn’t think I’d see the day you fell for someone”.
Ink cocked their head to the side in confusion. “I don’t have a soul” they reminded the other gently. “I don’t feel love of the romantic kind. Not sure I feel any other form either”. Summary
Dream’s sudden death had come as a shock to the entire server.
It would have been far less unexpected had it come when he was still trapped in the prison, but it hadn’t. Techno had freed him.
And yet, his death was undeniable. Death messages were impossible to fake.
Personally, Phil didn’t care all that much for it. He was never Dream’s biggest fan and, while he’d been a valuable ally for Techno when the time came to take down L’Manburg, he didn’t trust the guy not to turn on them as soon as every other threat to his power had been dealt with.
The other big news he received concerned him a lot more.
Around the time of Dream’s death, so not too long after Tommy hid from him in Phil’s home, Tommy disappeared. There was no death message for him, which could have indicated that he was still alive, but, then again, nobody knew how deaths worked for those who weren’t supposed to be living in the first place. So, had it been only him that vanished, Phil wouldn’t have known how to interpret it. But time a couple of weeks, and Tubbo was gone too.

“We could try video games?” Epic proposed uncertainly.
Delta shook his head. “It wouldn’t go over with Cross any better than the board games did”.
“What about cooking together?” Epic tried again.
“You know food is a major trigger for Horror. I think for now it’d be better not to risk it. Besides, I already don’t trust Killer around my food, it’s not like I’d trust anyone of the others any better” Delta shot it down yet again.
Epic groaned. “Bruh… I’m out of ideas”.
Silence fell between them.
Minutes ticked by with nothing but a cough from Color here and there when marrow started clogging his throat.
But then, finally, inspiration struck. “Wait… Horror does like agriculture and foraging though. He borrowed a couple of books from me about it not too long ago” Color pointed out. His friends gave him some curious looks which prompted him to continue. “What if we bring them out for a mushroom gathering trip?"

Lust wasn’t the type to get involved in alternate-universe shenanigans. He knew they were a thing because Dream, Ink, and Blue had dropped by at some point to offer him a place among the Star Sanses, but it just wasn’t his kind of scene.
So, when he saw a dark portal open up in an alley near Grillby’s and a skeleton fall through it his first instinct had been to turn around, head back into the nightclub, and drink some more. Hopefully, he could drown the guilt of letting some poor soul suffer in alcohol if he tried hard enough.
But then he noticed their soul… it was floating in front of their ribcage, battered and bruised and yet still not allowed to retire into the safety of their body. It reminded him of himself. Of all the times he’d been left just like that in similarly dark alleys that smelled of piss and poor life choices. He remembered having to pull himself up and stumble home, having to put on a bold face so Papyrus wouldn’t worry, having to call up Grillby to tell him that he hadn’t gotten paid that night… he hated those memories.
He didn’t give his rational side any more time to talk him out of helping.

It was rare for Dream to decide to slow down and enjoy the small things in life ever since the Apple Incident.
He’d tried once or twice before when he first met Blue and Cross, the people he held dearest. They were both mortals and he’d figured they’d leave him in the blink of an eye if he weren’t careful.
But standing still was the closest he could get to dying by his own hand.
His breaks never lasted.
Still, once every blue moon he came across a sight that made him wanna pause if only for one minute. Breath in the peace that surrounded him. It didn’t truly count as him taking a break, he never allowed those moments of respite to last long enough for the tiredness he’d accumulated from years of fighting nonstop to catch up with him. He couldn’t afford for his mind to turn all sluggish and slow.
However, whenever he saw a beautiful flower field with a lone tree standing in the middle of it, he gave into his longing for a home he never truly had, and he sat down in the shade the branches provided him.

There were only a few scenarios Wilbur had been able to envision that would have made his death an unpleasant experience.
First of all, there was the possibility of Tommy walking in as he was about to press the button.
His second biggest concern was that the explosion wouldn't finish him off. That unfortunately did occur. His father did a crappy job of remedying his mistakes too, so he ended up slowly and painfully bleeding out instead of going out with a blast like he’d dreamed of.
Lastly, he was afraid of coming face to face with his mother and to see her disappointment.
He’d thought he considered every possibility and he thought that he was willing to embrace even the worst of outcomes with open arms.
However, Life had a way of surprising people.
Wilbur didn’t die on November Sixteenth.
Well, he kind of did. He bled out, alone, in a grime and soot-covered room. It was a rather undignified end.
But then he woke up just a few months later in the body of a ghost, lost on an island far away from his demolished country with only Tommy and Dream for company.

Summary
Within the Multiverse, it was highly discussed what Ink’s and Error’s relationship could be.
Many chalked it up to simple hatred. They were opposing forces, always on opposite sides of every conflict. They fought frequently, always brutally, and always going too far by anyone else’s standards.
Some, however, speculated that there had to be something more going on there. Mortal enemies didn’t usually have cutesy nicknames for one another after all.
Ink had been asked a few times if they were in a relationship as well, usually by whatever Underswap Sans Dream had taken under his wing most recently. Every time he couldn’t help but laugh at them. He always made sure to remind them that he could feel no romantic attraction of any kind (he always chalked it up to his lack of soul though, if he had to be honest with himself, he doubted he’d feel any even if he had one).
The truth was rather different from what everyone theorized.

Summary
It had been years since Papyrus had last seen his brother.
Monsterkind was free and happily settled on the surface. Everyone was happy. However, nobody else even remembered about Sans’ existence. Every time Papyrus mentioned him to anyone they looked at him as if they were afraid that he was losing it.
But he knew that Sans was real.
The house they’d once shared was still there within Mount Ebbot. Hidden behind it was a small lab. Down there, hidden within several piles of documents full of mostly undecipherable chicken scratches, there was a picture. Whatever had erased everyone else’s memory and physical reminders of Sans' existence had left that one untouched.
In it, his brother was wearing a lab coat and holding up his theoretical physics diploma. He was smiling, standing right next to Papyrus. Papyrus had to crouch to fit within the frame, his position looked uncomfortable, and yet he was still grinning just as brightly as his brother, he was even shedding a few manly tears.
That photo was a promise. From the day he’d discovered it buried in that lab, he decided that he wouldn’t rest until he’d found his brother again.
