“Uh, nothing.” Killua grumbled, “Just thinking too much, I guess.”
“Thinking?” Gon tilts his head in confusion, like a little puppy that had heard a strange noise in the distance. Killua couldn’t help but blush ferociously in response; he couldn’t help it — Gon looked adorable. “Thinking about what?”
For a moment, Killua was at a loss for words. “E-erm…stuff.”
“What kinds of stuff?”
Killua stares at him for a moment.
“You ask too many questions.”
Gon laughed again, his smile brightening up the night sky. “Come on, Killua. You know you can tell me anything. We’re best friends, remember?”
Friends…
Killua forced a smile.

“You’re gonna fall if you sit like that, you dumbass.”
Gon's body relaxes against Killua's back, the rumble of the motorcycle feeling almost therapeutic beneath them.
“You must really care about me then,” Gon says quietly, his voice barely audible. “No, not really. I just don’t want to pay for your hospital bills because I’m broke as fuck.” Killua jokes cheekily. He really isn’t.
Gon could hear the smile in his voice; he knew he didn’t mean a single word. “You’re really mean, Killua.” He murmurs with a pout, nuzzling his head against the surface of the boy’s leather jacket, the grip on Killua’s waist slightly tightening.
Killua chuckles softly at Gon's response, feeling his own heart warm at the way Gon snuggles closer to him. He can’t help but close his eyes, indulging himself in this sweet, tender moment. “I know,” He says, his tone warm but still playful, “But I’ll buy you whatever you want at the carnival in exchange for being mean. We are on a date anyway.”
Gon takes a moment to register the words that just escaped Killua’s lips.
Date.
Gon felt his heart race as he realized that he was on a date with Killua.

Summary
"Does it hurt?" Gon motions to the wound on his stomach, his fingers slightly grazing Killua's bare skin.
Killua flinches slightly at the touch but quickly relaxes, leaning in closer to Gon. “It's not too bad, just a little sore.” He smiles softly, his eyes meeting Gon's. The boy smiles back, his eyes shining with tenderness.
“Do you think if I kiss it, it will make you feel better?”
At that, Killua’s face flushed red. "Gon-"
Gon can’t help but giggle before bursting into laughter, the sound of it bouncing off the walls, filling the room with warmth.

The silver-haired boy swallowed. Hard. Yet his throat was tight, so tight that it felt like he was suffocating.
“You’re such an idiot,” he shakily whispered.
Gon stirred slightly but didn’t wake.
Killua glanced at him, his sharp blue eyes softening at the sight of his slumbering friend.
The silver-haired boy nearly chuckled, almost letting a soft laugh escape his trembling lips, yet nothing came out. His eyes traced the outlines of Gon’s warm, dreaming features, mesmerized at the way his eyelashes cast delicate shadows upon his soft, flushed cheeks.
Gon’s chest rose and fell, his fingers slightly twitching against the surface of the silk sheets now and then, almost as if he were unconsciously reaching out to him.
Gon looked…peaceful. Utterly peaceful. Beautiful.
And Killua knew, had always known, that Gon was beautiful.

Gon's heart continued to race as he tried to steady his trembling hands. Slowly, he reached down to pick up the fallen flashlight, his fingers wrapping tightly around its handle. Oh gosh. Am I gonna die?! Is this what Kite meant?!
He shone the light around the room again, yet this time, he wasn’t illuminating just old, vintage furniture. In the corner of his eyes, there was a boy with silver hair who was snickering and holding back his laughter by covering his mouth with his palms.
Well, Gon wasn’t sure he could call him a boy, because, well, said silver-haired boy was floating in the air while giggling like a teenage girl talking to her school crush.
