An exceedingly normal house in an exceedingly normal town with the exceedingly normal understanding that she and Jax are now the neighbourhood’s blushing newlyweds.
Neither of which knows exactly what to do with that, especially after the fight that revealed parts of themselves they’d both rather keep out of sight. It’s awkward at best, and it only spirals from there.

Safe to say the Gun Adventure did not go well. Caine is smart enough to admit that. HOWEVER he IS intrigued by the situation it brought on --- it's unprecedented! Two humans abstracting at the same time is very, very bad, and losing Jax and Pomni so soon after Kaufmo would be terrible for team morale! The solution is simple: cut out the abstracted and corrupted bits, but that leaves two halves.
Fortunately, two halves just so happen to make a whole. So what if the result is a little unconventional?
AKA
Pomni and Jax start to abstract after the Caine gives them all guns. They fight and fight and fight until finally locking themselves away, and the others would be lying if they said they weren't grateful for the newfound lapse in argument.
But something changes. A new character shows up in the circus --- an uncanny combination of their two missing companions --- and an oddly sentient abstraction begins to stalk them. Turns out, abstraction is a complicated process. You shouldn't shove a brass key into a combination lock. They both might break.

Jax was not going to let himself abstract over some tiny cartoon jester who believed she knew everything. That wasn’t how this was ending. He felt anger fill him once again, the buzz of it making his fur stand on end, and as he gazed into the reflection of the person he despised most, he came to one simple conclusion.
He needed Pomni. He needed her to fix him.
