"I consider this relaxing,” Alastor said with a smug grin Lucifer's way. The other man was lounging on his ridiculous bed – the one Alastor had, much to his chagrin, discovered was fire-proof – fiddling absently with one of his many rubber ducks.
Lucifer hummed, like he thought Alastor's claim was something he had to consider – and couldn't be taken as simple fact.
“Nope. Right now, your back is sore – and don't try to deny it, because your static's been hissing at least two pitches higher than normal – and you just cut your thumb open on a screw. You didn't sleep properly last night, I've got your hoof-marks on my legs to prove it – and even if you enjoy working on your radios, you're definitely not relaxing,” Lucifer proclaimed.

If Alastor won't take care of himself then Lucifer figures he'll just have to do it for him. Helping a tense Radio Demon into a bath and bed? Well, that's a sacrifice Lucifer guesses he's willing to make.

He’d learned to expect Husk behind the bar, regardless of the hour, either with a drink in hand or passed out against the counter. He’d learned to expect Angel Dust half-naked or worse in the lobby, moaning and groaning about whatever atrocity Valentino had put him through that day whilst combing unspeakable things out of his fur. He’d learned to expect Charlie’s unrelenting enthusiasm, greeting him each time he returned as though she hadn’t seen him in decades.

Alastor had apologised more than enough for one day, in his not-so-humble opinion. Though Charlie extolled the virtues of the word 'sorry', he found it didn't form easily on his tongue – his recent talk with Lucifer being the exception, not the rule.
Nonetheless, now that he had been thoroughly shattered and rebuilt in the span of a few hours, all with the soft touches and gentle reassurances that were Lucifer's forte; he found himself looking down the barrel of yet another apology.
A barrel which bore a startling resemblance to one former exorcist, her stubborn glare somewhat less effective thanks to the red rim around her eye, clear evidence that more than a few tears had been shed over his harsh words.
Alastor was lucky his own lids and eyes were already so crimson.
