The temple’s stale, muggy air is gone - replaced by a cool, gentle breeze. He looks up and there’s no stone ceiling; instead, he has to blink the sun out of his eyes. He lifts one arm to shield his gaze and finds no golden gauntlet - just the sleeve of a dark blue suit covering his very normal arm.
A scene from his own past. Some type of Ancient mind game. No prizes for guessing where he is now. He only ever took the one mission in a tiny mountain village. There’s plenty of pain to revisit from those dreadful days, but one moment stands out; the most painful thing he’d suffered at that point in his life. So Vincent is hardly surprised when he walks to the town gate and sees Lucrecia and Hojo in each others’ arms.
“As long as she’s happy, I don’t mind,” he says aloud, conscious of the repetition.

When Rude finally confides in Reno about these latest visions, the two of them defy orders to investigate whether they may come to pass and, more importantly, if there's a way to stop the apocalypse. Summary
The Apocalypsis Saga begins 5 years after Meteorfall with Sephiroth's resurrection, and Act I: Ruination follows the Turks and Avalanche as they work to stop him and his remnants from destroying Gaia. Act II: Recrudescence picks up immediately where Ruination leaves off to follow the first act's survivors in a mostly fluff/slice-of-life piece as they come to terms with the outcome of the final battle and their new futures. Toward the end of this act an old enemy reemerges, and Act III: Revolution will chronicle the fight to save a dying world once again. The series will conclude with Act IV: Repose, another fluff/slice-of-life piece that serves as an "extended epilogue" showcasing the day-to-day lives of those who survive to the end of Revolution. There will also be a "Special Episode" released as a supplement to Act III, the title/plot of which is being kept under wraps to avoid spoilers.

Vincent knows what he must do, but travelling across a world that remembers the old tales, dogged at every step by those he once loved and fighting against his own inner demons all the way, the journey will be far from easy.

Summary
It has been a few years since the fall of Deepground, and after what can only be described as a rebirth in returning back to tangible form, Vincent has done his best to work towards showing his appreciation for the allies and friends recent events further proved he must treasure.
But as he is allowing himself to get closer to those he's drawn to do so with, he's finding a final sin being forced upon him, beyond his own wishes and despite his defiance. Chaos assures him he is owed specific price paid, for what he was made to allow Vincent to take from him, and that in the end, it would only serve Vincent.
But the chance to hold on to something, worth all that would be sacrificed? In all the progress the man had accomplish, it felt as if the world was turning around and condemning him to only ever be a monster, one that perhaps no other should have to suffer to endure.
