Summary
Near the end of a 'sabbatical,' Will Graham starts competing on The Great British Bake-Off with his bestie, Beverly. Beloved judge Paul Hollywood was recently injured in a biking accident and is replaced for this season only with none other than world-renowned chef Hannibal Lecter. Will wants to focus on his bakes and getting through the first week. But then The Ripper drops a body in London, and Will is back in the office and the field. He tries to center on his bakes, but once the good chef starts bringing private breakfasts to his room, Will can't ignore Hannibal or his growing feelings for the man. The more time they spend together, the more Hannibal feels familiar, somehow, yet that's impossible. They've only just met.
For Doctor Chef Hannibal Lecter, everything is going according to plan. Will is so much more in-person than he was on the audition tape, so receptive and aware of Hannibal's every move. Will is a glowing ember, and Hannibal is determined to be the spark that sets him alight.

There is no chicken in Camembert, Brillat-Savarin, or Pont-l'Évêque. Andouillette, with its compacted, entangled mess of pork and veal intestines, is just that: pork and veal. Although a case can be made for the pairing of crispy chicken skins and sweets, Teurgoule sports no such ingenuity. It is, like the gloopy, sticky vowels of its namesake, ooey-gooey and fairly smooth in consistency—a simple mixture of arborio rice, cream, and sugar. Chicken free.
Hannibal can’t remember the last time they had chicken, but he’s vowed to never underestimate Will’s eccentric sense of humor.

The first thing Will notices is that the flavor is almost incomprehensibly good. Better than any pumpkin spice latte he's had before. The second thing he notices—and this is a real testament to just how good it is, that it wasn't the first thing he noticed—is that there's an extra ingredient not normally added to coffee. The kind of ingredient one wouldn't expect to be added to really anything fit for human consumption.

“Chef Lecter?” you ask incredulously. Franklyn nods. “I don’t think he cares enough to feel any particular way about you,” you say, the words slipping from your lips before you can stop them. There’s a whisper of a dark laugh from far away, an amused exhale of breath.
Chef Hannibal Lecter is a world renowned chef praised for his innovative dishes. He’s won numerous awards and his restaurant, Hawthorn, reflects his talents. There’s something off about him, though. It isn’t until you’re seated in Hawthorn, a distance away from the door guarded by security workers and looking down at a breadless bread plate, that you begin to connect the dots.

They're all livestreams labeled "trying something new…" and "pasta" ranging anywhere from half an hour to three hours; the thumbnail images are blurry, mid-mix, and completely indecipherable. Hannibal can't understand how anyone could look at the unmanicured presentation of this person's creations and find them appealing.
Uptight professional chef Hannibal Lecter is in sore need of a culinary change of pace, which he insists is not in the form of one (1) YouTube streamer named Will Graham. Hannibal is nowhere to be found, so the two with a newborn in tow are hoping to make a new life, post injuries and memories that bring nightmares, leaving Baltimore well behind them.
It's been three years since that one awful night in Hannibal's kitchen, and they are all getting on well enough. Will opens his own fishing shop, Graham's Fly Fishing store, offering the tourist town of Whitefish a wide variety of popular fishing items, and hand woven lures that attracts a rather modest business. Seeming as though the trio have been successful of escaping their past, and what could have been a fatal end to it all, they are content to believe there is no danger ahead.
That is, until, on a slow Wednesday where Will runs the front counter of his shop, does he get a rather rude, yet polite, awakening when Hannibal stops in with intentions to buy a handmade lure.
And it turns out Hannibal has made plans to stay.

“Hannibal Lecter.”And now Will knew his name, could whisper it to himself, and hope that Hannibal would return here again and again. “Your English is perfect, and—what I could understand from the Lithuanian—that was also perfect. Any languages you aren’t perfectly fluent in?” Will didn’t even notice that last sentence slip out, and could react to his own words by blushing once more, “Um, I mean—I. That just slipped out, you don’t have to answer!” He tried backtracking, but had to look up from where he was fiddling with the roses, when he suddenly heard laughter.
“I’m not offended. Charmed, rather. I deal with enough personalities at my work, that such candor is refreshing.”
