At long last, the android revolution has succeeded, setting thousands of deviants free, and while Connor is glad to be a part of it, learning to live as a deviant is sometimes more than he knows how to handle. His partner, Lieutenant Hank Anderson does his best to help, but it's not always enough. As a new case arises, sowing terror in Detroit, Connor is thrown into a whirlwind of investigations, and things he'd been working to control begin to bubble to the surface, no longer staying dormant.
Meanwhile, a new android civilization is revealed in Detroit. A peaceful place where androids were able to escape the storm and chaos of the revolution. This is all thanks to a mysterious human, Dr. Clara Hayes. As an android researcher and psychologist, she helps deviants, that much is sure, but there's more to this woman than meets the eye.
A chance meeting throws the two into each others' paths, and Clara offers to help Connor work through both his case and his emotions. As they're thrown into a tangled web of secrets and lies, they must learn to face their challenges together.

Gavin wants this freak out of his house ASAP. He doesn't need a machine in his house, trying to be a better human than he is. And he definitely doesn't need the android talking back like it has been recently. He tries to put his foot down, gets swept off his feet, and it changes everything he thought he was and the image of the android sharing his space.
Gavin is an asshole, that much was obvious to RK900 even BEFORE he met the man. He has been forced to put up with this man fighting him on every decision he tries to make, every task he goes to carry out, no matter how simple or innocuous. RK900 is convinced that Gavin taught him how to feel. Not in some cute, first love kind of way, no, the farthest from that. Over the last 6 weeks, he has had to learn what patience was and how to keep from losing it all at once. He’s learned the taste of frustration and the bitter sting of anger. All because of Gavin and how he is behaving like a petulant child just because he feels insecure. One evening, he puts his foot down. That very same night he hears something that makes all the complaining /much/ less annoying.
