A pile of books sat in his and Conrad's room – all books on childcare they read throughout Nic’s pregnancy and Georgianna's birth. They wanted to be prepared for it all, as best as they could, learning what kinds of food they could give, the ideal way to put her to sleep and how to teach her all the little things she needed.
None of those books told him how to explain racism to his own daughter.

When he gets to Chastain, he immediately asks around, eventually discovering his husband unconscious on the roof with a mystery affliction. It's a race against the clock to figure out what's wrong with Devon before it's too late, and on top of that, Conrad is having a hard time coping with the idea of his husband being so sick.

Basically a Devrad reimagining of the events of s05e02 No Good Deed. This was one of those episodes where it was difficult to convince myself that Devrad isn't actually canon, and I wanted to write it as if it was. I, of course, had to put a traumatized Conrad spin on it, and I thought that it worked well with my polyverse, particularly the fact that he didn't notice for so long being more easily explained this way.
