He’d called Zuko sweet. Was it some kind of sick joke? There were lots of words Zuko could use to describe himself, but that wasn’t one of them. Not in the slightest. He was rotten. Vile. Bacteria in a festering wound. But he wasn’t sweet.

Summary
Zuko can barely hear his heavy breathing over the roaring of the storm, his cold body aches in protest but he continues, cutting at the air as if that’s his enemy, his source of frustration, instead of his own sense of helplessness. He yells out each time thunder rocks the sky and he lets his flames lick the stones while he-
“What are you doing?! You’re gonna catch a cold!!” He whips his head up to see Sokka standing over the balcony, with his arms crossed and a disapproving look on his face.
“I’m-! You’re ruining my-!” Zuko isn’t sure how to respond to being caught doing something only his younger teenage self would think was cool. He lets out an exasperated sigh and drops his swords to his side.
“Just come back to bed!” Sokka insists, turning to head back into their bedroom. Zuko can’t argue with him for long and he drags himself back inside. He feels almost embarrassed when he comes face to face with Sokka, his body dripping wet. He can barely meet Sokka’s gaze, dreaded the disapproval in them, but when he looks up all he sees is tenderness, and maybe some worry.
Or Zuko has emo hours and he "reluctantly"" lets Sokka take care of him. The whole situation is big old married couple vibes.

Very heavily inspired by the Glass animals song Hot Sugar. I heard this song for the first time and fell in love and thought of Zukka instantly. I have always shipped these boys but I thought I’d try my hand at writing.
This fic is an AU that centers around the GAang’s life in California. Now, that’s not to say everyone in this story is originally FROM California.... hehe. I think you guys will really appreciate how I’ve incorporated bits of the characters’ identity from the show into this fic, but of course added my own little twist. That’s what a writer does. ;)

He was told by his mother to be polite. These people were their friends and allies, and though their nations were as different as they came, harmony between nations was the most important thing.

What is important, though, is the fact that Sokka accidentally liked a 96 week old post from Zuko's Instagram. And then, Zuko requests to follow him. Desperate to talk to Zuko, Sokka auditions for the school play "Romeo and Juliet" because Zuko's in the drama club. Once they both get cast as the leads, Sokka will soon realize that maybe he's more than whipped for the emo Hot Topic wearing loner from his science class.

He’s being altogether too nice about this. It’s making Zuko feel vulnerable. He makes sure the next thing he says is a little colder.

Sokka’s eyes get harder. There it is. The fight he’s looking for. Hopefully Sokka will tell him off for his tone and then give it up. and then Zuko can spend a few hours pacing around with adrenaline and memories before he’s finally able to get any sleep.

Summary
Toph does not need anyone, certainly not the whiny Avatar or his bossy friend. Thank you very much, she's totally fine on her own. Zuko is sick of the Earth Kingdom and he just wants to go home. He really shouldn't stop when he witnesses some thugs threatening another stray kid, but he does. The chance encounter changes everything.
S2 AU - where Toph and Zuko run into each other mid-Chase and end up going on a field trip together. (I upped the rating to T for some mild cussing - just to be on the safe side).
