He finished braiding the horse’s mane, using up the decorative ribbon he had set aside prior to the task. Sky blue ribbons with white lace on the edges, to represent the Midday court. He ran his hands down the coat of the horse, admiring his work. A door further down the stable creaked open, and he looked out of the stall to see the stablemaster, a Summer man with orange hair, heading in his direction.
“Elm,” the stablemaster said upon approaching him. The pink-haired man’s hand instinctively went to the enamel token resting on his chest, tracing the shape of a branch from an elm tree. His nickname for the day.

“This is for you,” the fae says, though Tommy is much too enamored to look anywhere but the scenery before him. “It’s a Summer Garden. It will stay this way all year round.”
“It’s beautiful,” Tommy breathes, stepping with bare feet onto the plush grass. It's warm between his toes, and though the floors of the inner Court are hardly cold despite the seemingly perpetual winter outside, the plush grass of the Garden is warm, not simply not cold.
“I’m glad you enjoy it.” The fae pushes, gently, at Tommy’s back, ushering him forward. “Go. Explore.”

“I can’t just make a deal without knowing! That’s not how that works!” Wilbur exclaimed frantically, his breathing getting more erratic with each moment that passed.
“Oh, you’ll find that it can work that way.” The fae smiled brightly.
Wilbur stumbled backward. This couldn’t be happening. This shouldn’t be a possibility.
He couldn’t be stuck as a slave for the rest of his life. He couldn’t be stuck in an unfamiliar realm, with unnatural beings, for the rest of his existence.
This wasn’t fair. He never made a deal. He’d never even spoken to the fae. Not even once.
But he knew it was too late.
Somehow, without even speaking a single word, Wilbur had sealed his own fate.

After finding a magical diary in the woods, Wilbur accidentally entangles himself into a deal with the fae. The deal involves him becoming a part of their family.
And while he lives in denial about it at first, Wilbur slowly accepts his fate and realizes things aren’t as bad as he thought they were. Hurt/Comfort and found family quickly follow.

He doesn’t know how long it’s been since he was trapped in the hollow. He lost track of time what felt like seasons ago, unable to see the sun rise and fall to ascertain the passing of time.
The webs by the front of his captors home were too thick to see through, so different from the gossamer threads woven along the floors and walls.
He couldn’t even get to the entry without alerting one of them, the low light working against him and forcing him to stumble where he otherwise wouldn’t. They toyed with him over it. Letting him get so, so close, just enough to see the barest threads of light and foliage through the webs, and then he’d pass right through one.
It would cling to his face, make him sputter and stumble back into even more while they made their way towards him, far too fast on their eight legs.

“My brother,” he says finally. “Wilbur.”

Autumn is ending; Tommy is a summer.
When Wilbur had fled with the boy into the human realm, it had been spring. He hadn't considered the winter. Yet, as autumn leaves fall more and more every passing day, Tommy grows sicker and sicker. There is nothing a human can do for him.
But, to return the summer child to the fae, Wilbur will have to return to the fae. Wilbur may not know everything about how the fae work, but he knows very well how they treat humans who trespass into their territory. He'll be lucky if he dies.

Philza panicked. It was night and Wilbur was outside, unprotected. He practically ran to the door, desperate to get his son inside and put him in a safe place. He removed the locks and took the handle in his hand before stopping.
“Dad, open up,” Wilbur repeated. “It’s night, and I want to sleep.”
He slowly released the handle. Wilbur was whining and whimpering in fear.
“It’s cold,” he said more impatiently. “Dad, open up, this isn’t funny.”
He almost did.
He re-engaged the lock.

Summary
Fundy's never known his mother. He tries not to think about it too hard. Lest the sadness tries to drown him. Or the anger.
His father raised him. Wilbur's always been there for him.
He still daydreams sometimes, of what could have been, if his father hadn't had to leave everything behind when he was born. He can't help it. His uncle Techno's great, when he comes to visit for a short few days, but an uncle who goes out into the post-apocalyptic jungle that surrounds Pandora and disappears for months at a time doing Prime knows what, isn't much to call family.
Fundy'll take it, but that doesn't mean he has to like it. Wilbur always gets worried too, and channels that worry onto him. Like that's needed, Fundy's a perfect angel!
Well, the vigilante running around blowing up gang hideouts and outposts is probably worth a note of concern. But it's not like Fundy's gonna run into him in neutral territory.
Not that Fundy's supposed to have picked up on that information. Wilbur would have a heart attack if he knew. But that's why it's a secret. Fundy will find out who the assassin is, at whatever cost, and make sure the shithead doesn't come after his dad. Old gang affiliations or not.

To say Techno was stressed was an understatement. While the fairies assigned to bring Mainland spring were steadily pouring back into Pixie Hollow, he was still sat at Buttercup Canyon.
Now this would have all been fine and good for Techno. He was by far not the most social of all Garden fairies. He was more than happy to look after the different crops in the gardens. Ever since his arrival he had felt right at home between the carrots and potatoes. While that, sure, also came with challenges, it held nothing against the stress he was feeling at the moment.Or: Techno is a stressed garden fairy triyng to bring Summer to the mainland. This entails a lot of planning, seed shipments and water fairies just trying to help out.
Wait- what was that last part?
