Summary
Sequel to Evolution Of A Symphony.
Now that Alphonse Elric and Roy Mustang understand who and what they are to each other, the challenge is figuring out how to move forward. Although some people in their lives accept them, others, namely Edward, are still having difficulties coming to terms with it.
For Alphonse, Edward’s struggles sting deeply. But with the omega starting university in two short months and the looming threat of his upcoming heat hanging over his head, Al needs to finalize the last of his arrays, including his most dangerous yet. Meanwhile, Roy and his team are dodging the increasingly restless and nosy media at every turn, who are desperate for details of Roy’s new alpha status and a heavily rumored secret mateship.
Roy’s usually good with the media dance, but the alpha has become increasingly frustrated about their lack of mating bites, and he’s fighting his instincts at every turn. He’s also coming to understand that he’ll have to decide what to do about his pack chain and, by extension, the Mustang pack, which may alter the course of his and Al’s lives forever.

“Mmm? And what is that?” Mustang asked as he carefully shifted the chess pieces back into starting position. A mischievous look was plastered across the Fuhrer's face causing Roy to become suspicious of the older man’s intent. He was up to no good, that was for sure. Mustang’s patience was fading fast, “Out with it, Grumman,” he grumbled.
“Hey, that’s Fuhrer to you, boy!” he shifted in his seat, “If you win, I’ll give you that bonus you’ve been hoping for, hmm?”
Roy raised his eyebrows, “I’m listening… and if you win?”
“If I win…” he paused, eyes darting around the room as though to make sure nobody was listening. He was acting abnormally giddy, “You have to take my granddaughter out on a date.”

Ed was the first to speak. He walked toward her, his hands trembling as he grabbed her coat - something no one could have imagined anyone doing to the respected Lieutenant of Mustang’s team, not even Ed himself - she could hear the clinking of automail.

“You’ve never done office olympics!?” Fuery shouts. He nearly jumps out of his chair, slamming both hands on the desk before recoiling with an embarrassed blush. He twiddles his thumbs and begins to explain. “It’s, like, um… Team games! Fun stuff! Like desk chair races, sticky note fencing, rubber band archery-”
“Ooh, we could do paper plate frisbee!” Havoc cuts in. “I’m great at that one- man, we gotta get Catalina in on this, she can make a killer paper airplane!”
“No, no-” Roy pinches the bridge of his nose, already regretting the phrasing. “It’s not… That kind of office olympics.”
“Then what kind of office olympics is it, exactly?” Riza questions as she folds her arms and peers up at him skeptically.
“The purpose of this week’s exercise is to improve your intel gathering skills,” He explains. “I want blackmail material on Major General Halcrow.”
