When Agent Mulder is consulted by another agent at the bureau about a child abduction with potential ties to past X-Files, he and Agent Scully set off to find the truth behind a cold case and hope it will turn up some leads on the perpetrator.
The most recent linked X-File was tied to a near decade old case of one Sarah Williams (female); a child who had claimed to see the missing girl several years back under fanciful circumstances and having a seemingly psychic ability to describe a complete stranger.
With the new case baring similarities to the child’s claims, reopening Sarah Williams’ case may just hold the clues they need to an emerging pattern of missing persons spanning several decades.When Mulder and Scully start investigating they discover the strange circumstances may point to something more unusual than the average serial child abductor.

Summary
10 years have passed since Sarah’s trip through the Labyrinth; she’s (almost) living the life of her dreams, the friends she made there are frequent (if secret) visitors, and though she’s not encountered Jareth since that day that now seems so long ago, the Goblin King is never far from her thoughts (not that she’d ever admit it).
When her friends ask her to help their mysteriously vanished (and possibly just as mysteriously dying) king, she’s more than a little confused—she’d have thought they’d be thrilled to have him gone. Until they share a reality of their world she never knew:
Jareth is all that stands between them and the far darker things that used to rule their realm. Ancient creatures so terrifying humans made themselves forget they ever even existed.
She’s, of course, ignoring entirely that there’s any personal stake in her running back to their world to help. It’s not like she cares about saving the Goblin King for bewildering and unnamable reasons of her own, or anything.

For the last ten years, Sarah Williams has been coming to terms with the fact that her Labyrinth run was nothing but a fantasy. A dream in which she saved her brother from the treacherous King of Goblins, who bore a remarkable resemblance to Jeremy Taylor, the famous Broadway actor, producer and director, who was also her mother's co-star, and boyfriend, once upon a time.
Now a big star in her own right, a nostalgic Sarah asks her mother if she'd had any recent contact with her old beau. But, Linda has no idea who Jeremy Taylor even is. And to Sarah's horror, every photograph, every press clipping and every image of the man has somehow been erased and replaced, mostly by people she does not even know.
Sarah races back to her childhood home, to find the scrapbook she had lovingly kept photos of her mother and Jeremy in during her teens. And, sure enough, he'd vanished. Only one photograph remains as she remembers, the one she placed in the drawer of her vanity.
There he was, in black and white. Real.
Armed with that single lifeline, she searches for the man who holds her past and her future in his hands.
