What’s less obvious—at least to everyone except Clark Kent—is why he keeps insisting on interviews with him, why his tone shifts ever so slightly when Clark speaks, and why every cutting remark about Superman seems to come paired with a compliment that it definitely.
Lex Luthor agrees to a live interview.
Clark thinks it’s just another assignment.
Everyone else knows better.
Featuring: a very professional interview that somehow turns into Lex being suspiciously nice to Clark and immediately cold when Superman is mentioned, Lois trying not to laugh on live television, Conner losing his mind backstage, Match quietly analyzing everything, and Cat Grant being deeply offended she got rejected.
Lex absolutely does not have a favorite. Don’t be ridiculous.

When Match fails to complete his mission to kill Project Thirteen, he takes the unconscious idiot on the road as he flees for his life, defecting from the organization that created and raised him. He makes it less than three hours before his newfound freedom is stripped away and he is taken into Justice League custody.
Match doesn't have high hopes for the future, especially not once he finds out that he's going to be kept in Batman's custody, but he's at the very least starting to think he might be able to avoid decommissioning if he plays his cards right.
Too bad for him that he's never been any good at cards.
||I just wanted to write pathetic Match. If you don't know who Match is, that is fine. He's a clone of Kon and that's really all you need to know. And also for a note on canon, why would a copy of a copy be closer to the original than the primary copy? That makes no sense. match should be less powerful than Conner on paper and I'll die on that hill. This will have infrequent updates.||
