Mayuko is almost seventeen when she joins The Wrench Monkeys, a rising visual kei band full of noise, eyeliner and neon dreams. Half-Japanese, half-Finnish, she's always felt like a half-ghost- and a certain shadow from the past, a silver moon boy, won't stop following her, no matter how much makeup she cakes on.
The same goes for her family.
There are silent dinner tables, a kiss she wasn't supposed to have and questions she can't answer.

At some point Leo had gotten up and riffled through the cupboards, returning with a single slice of bread, a bit of cheese, and some dried berries. Donnie and Splinter idly chatted, Raph joining in at points. Mikey talked to Leo about the book he was reading, something about how it was a vampire novel that predated Dracula and how it was most likely sent to burn because of the erotic and queer themes.
For a moment, just one moment, the world was calm.
And then it wasn't.
A strange sound and smell clouded Raphael's senses. He abruptly stood and looked to the ceiling, zeroing in on the sound.
"Everyone out." His voice was stern as he ushered his siblings and father out of the room; first Leo who briskly walked down the hallway, then Donnie and Mikey, and after them Raph and Splinter.
Then the world crumbled.

He picked up one of the knocked over bottles by his feet and flung it into a nearby mirror, the shattering of glass the only thing he heard over his heavy breathing. He did it again.
And again.
And again.
Until every fucking reflection was shattered to pieces and he couldn’t see himself. His chest heaved violently in the ruins of everything around him and he crashed to his knees, sobbing. The sounds tore out of him forcefully until he couldn’t breath, couldn’t suck air into his pained lungs, couldn’t do anything.
He never could, could he?
(OR: Harry died in that clearing with Voldemort. In the afterlife, he's greeted by a face he's only ever seen in pictures hidden away in Number 12. Given a choice, Harry is flung back into 1976 and the Marauders 6th year at Hogwarts.
