Summary

He refuses to become a mad man, a horrible tyrant that Ozai is, and despises how he had driven his mother away due to paranoia and obsessiveness. Zuko won't become the person his mother feared him to be.
But then... Katara arrives. His precious, lovely soulmate. An enemy of their kingdom, a girl who comes from a dying tribe. Someone who he's willing to burn the world for just as his father had done countless times for Ursa.
He prays for his mother's forgiveness, even if that won't do as much good. They're the same after all.
