"People are starting to talk," Bond says, "about the young man who prefers the company of the dead in a deserted cemetery than the living, breathing villagers in the tea rooms that Millet prides itself on."
"I thought a gothic mystique fits in quite well with the image of a writer," Q replies. "Or did you have something else in mind when you professed me a poet?"
"I always associate you and your laptop with your office or lab, so – cluttered desk space, dim room lightning with only a single lamp on to illuminate your work, and a mug of tea for company. This—" Bond tilts his head to indicate the cemetery around them "—is a world apart from that environment."
"Is it?" Q smiles. "I find the solitude quite similar."
(When MI6 sends Q to the countryside for his own protection against Spectre's retaliation, it is not so much a short-term undercover assignment as it is a glimpse of an alternate life that Q could have had – just with the additional presence of one meddlesome Double-O agent).

Summary
The name of the event seems innocuous enough, if a terrible mouthful – Black Tie Networking Cocktail Party for Finances and Technology.
"You're familiar with the organizer, so you know what this networking event is likely a front for," M says. "With your cybertechnology know-how, one of your civilian identities will do just fine to meet up with Val Tech."
Q's eyes dart to 004 and Bond on either side of M. "And the Double-Os, sir?"
"As you'll be the in-field operative for the mission, 007 will accompany you as a handler," M says.
"Really." Q can't help the way his tone drops in disbelief; from the way the corner of Bond's mouth twitches upwards, it's clear everyone hears it. "With all due respect, sir, 007 has a tendency to hijack missions even when he's the operative in question."
(Post-Spectre fic, where Q and Bond embark on an acquisition mission to obtain an important component in the cybertechnology war against Spectre, in which Q is the one wearing the suit and Bond the glasses, and the two of them have the chance to see the other in a different light).

It was like coming home after being away for too long. It always had been, and honestly, James Bond hoped that setting foot in the hallowed halls of MI6 would always feel like coming home. But to be fair, he wasn’t anticipating a warm welcome this time. Given the circumstances of his last departure, the people he had walked away from, the people he had alienated because he was distracted by a pretty face, he expected a bit of a hostile reception. There were new faces as he made his way to M’s office, some of the younger ones saw him and spent a few minutes staring after him, whispering to each other that the prodigal son of MI6, the legendary rogue James Bond, had come home again.

I didnt expect to get this choked up reading James' name changing when he gets married but its an absolutely brilliant concept! almost every marriage fic has either both of them keeping their own names or Q being the one to change his last name but "James Bond" isnt just a name is it? it represents everything he had ever been through ALONE bbut now James Bond will never be alone again for the rest of his life.

Having moved to London for the Alexandria Organisation, Sam is spotted one day by Lady Toni Bevell from the British Men of Letters. She kidnaps Sam and basically, some of episode 12.01 happens but instead of being rescued by his family, Sam is rescued by James Bond.
Bond grabbed Q by the arms before he could enter the room. “Q, did you know?” His soulmate had promised he wouldn’t look for their third, had promised that he wouldn’t make James confront them if it turned out badly.
“Did I know what?” Q hissed as the 00’s hold on him tightened painfully.
