The next Avatar has been found 15 years after the death of Avatar Genji: a Firebender named Akira. Ever since Genji’s death, the world has slowly started to collapse, but why has the new Avatar not stepped up?
Some people are gonna say “If you’re using Genji, why not make a Legend of Genji series instead of create a new Avatar?” The answer is I don’t want to overstep into the territory of the Genji creators. While I will utilize ideas from the Genji series, I’m not gonna go overboard.
From there, the question can be asked: “Then why not just make your own earthbending Avatar?” Simple: I would rather try to distance myself from that idea, and rather stick with my original ideas, such as an Avatar that doesn’t really WANT to become the Avatar but doesn’t have a choice.
Finally, I am going to utilize ideas from the “Fixing the Legend of Korra” videos from the “Hello Future Me” YouTube channel, such as Zaheer’s goals and philosophy. However, unlike those videos, I’m not gonna shake things up too much, like have it so Korra lost the ability to Earth and Fire bend for a while or that Asami was an equalist before joining Team Avatar.

"Jewelstar broke his ankle. Hiking accident." It had been his sister who called.
Of course it was something stupid and avoidable. Catra merely sighed into her phone.
"Sorry about the timing, Catra." Starla sounded sincere.
"Thanks for letting me know." Catra did not.
It was only a month into the season, but local matches would be starting soon, and it would be difficult to find someone as skilled as Jewelstar in such a short period of time. Catra had punched out a quick text to Lonnie and Rogelio as she made her way across campus:
"jewelstar broke his ankle. need to find a new water bender ASAP"
and switched her phone to silent, knowing they would ask for more details.
