It's okay. Cecil is a professional, he's a grown man, a trained government agent who's almost a senior citizen. He can handle this. But why couldn't Mark be a cat like him? It would have been easier.
There is a good way, and a bad way to train a puppy. Cecil is no expert, but internally he organizes his own list.
Number one: You have to be firm with him. Dogs are uncontrolled, wild, playful creatures that all the time want to be in control, but you must have control over them with a firm leash.
Number two: You have to give them treats. Just as they need a strong character, they're so clumsy and sensitive that they require constant stimulation. Give your puppy rewards to indicate when he's doing a good job, and discover the fruits of that good behavior when he begs for praise and treats.
And number three: Fuck your puppy hard, dirty, and properly until you have him cumming all over the blankets saying he can't take it anymore. Of course this last point is reserved for him, for the personal care of his puppy, Mark Grayson.
Or, Invincible, and everything is the same, except that Mark is a dog and Cecil is a cat.

Cecil is a beta—cold, logical, emotionally distant in a way that should irritate Mark more than it soothes him.
