Summary
Azu does not like the tunnels, or the knowledge of how many horrible creatures might still be in this place. Zolf agrees. She can see it in the way he stands guard at her back, glaive tapping, and the occasional frustrated huff when he looks over and sees how slowly the process is going.
Perhaps, she realizes belatedly, he is uncomfortable on top of everything else.

The growth—no, he can't even think of it on those terms anymore, lying isn't going to help--the tail is only a stub of a thing, and it tapers to a thin point maybe three inches from the base of his spine. The skin around the new scales is red and raw, and there's a faint film over it, like a half-shed snakeskin.
“Oh dear,” he says out loud. He can't bring himself to touch it.
It could have been the storm; it's certainly not impossible for that level of magical energy to generate unexpected effects like this, especially interacting with a physiology like his, and it's possible it took his inherent magic and just—amplified it. It's one thing to know the theory behind it, to understand the interplay of innate and wild environmental magic, and another to look behind himself and go I have a tail now.

Listening to RG Gaming, the Magnus Archives, Stellar Firma, and watching RQ Streams has inspired me not just in writing but in creating fanart. I've essentially been teaching myself photoshop by making these pieces and I thought I'd post them, together, in one convenient location! Also, I need to clear some space and this seemed like the best time to start putting this collection together!
