Summary
After her adoptive parents are brutally murdered by the Phantom Troupe, Haruka Utashima vows to avenge her late parents, while also working towards her goal of finding out who her biological parents are. Everything changes when she meets Kurapika Kurta, a young man who has the same motive of hunting down the troupe. Over time, the two become close with one another and begin to form a bond.
But when Haruka begins to regain memories of her forgotten past, her true origins are revealed. Kurapika learns that he's not alone and Haruka realizes that she's not who she thought she was.

“What are you doing?”
Leorio smiles wanly, the expression blank and vaguely distant. It doesn’t quite reach his eyes. He pours them both paltry fingers of whiskey and nods to the signifying crackle of the record against needlepoint; and then he faces Kurapika, stiffly dancing forward a few paces, and takes his unoccupied hand. He intertwines their fingers like lattice and, inexplicably, starts swaying along to the stifled music. The song is something vintage, a tender classic, an intricate lyrical ballad of youthful romance. Leorio taps his foot in tandem to the placid baseline, and twirls Kurapika with a stupid, beaming grin.
“Dance with me. After all, sunshine, it’s the end of our lives.”
“And yet, you’re still a fool,” Kurapika scoffs, mustering a hardy glare, but his voice is etched with unmistakable softness.
It’s a lovely song, and a lovely scene. Kurapika can’t conceal the smile that creeps anxiously across his face like wildfire.
Or: The Black Whale is fated for destruction. After two years' estrangement, Leorio and Kurapika decide to dance.
