Summary
Billy’s day was alright. Dumb kids seemed to be less dumb today. Sun wasn’t as bright as he would like it but it was enough to keep the heat in his skin. He could have done without the middle-aged mothers gawking at him all day. It was all going ‘alright’ but after an awkward encounter with Mrs. Wheeler and a conversation with Neil's fists, he finds himself at the quarry.
Alone with his thoughts Billy submits to the pain that has built up inside him for years. Pulling his legs to his chest he just cried. He cried till a familiar BMW pulled in next to him. He cried even when the footsteps got closer. Cried when a warm hand met his back with a familiar voice comforted the pain he released into the world.
“Why doesn't he love me?! Why doesn't anyone love me!” He screamed between cries. “What did I do wrong? Why did she leave me!”
